We need our own McCaferty. Stud running backs travel well on the road. Who could it be?

We could have had Devon Achane in the second round. Instead we doubled down on Michigan players in taking a 25 year old TE who never really produced in college. Now finding a serviceable running back to replace or complement Pollard is still a major need. Can we please never draft a player from Michigan ever again?

Maybe start with a new center. They actually ran some today otherwise the yardage would have been even more negligible. Teams know where to attack in both pass & rush defense.

First two picks were from Michigan and neither has helped. It's as if they looked better than they were because of a cheating scandal...or something?

Learning that Achane was still there in round two was something I didn't need to know. :banghead:

Every team would kill for a CMC. In today's game the "stud" running backs are not the norm.

Entering this week Pollard was still a top 10 back. Averaging the same ypc as Henry. Penalties have been killing him lately. Had two big runs called back last week and had 11 yard run and 9 yard run called back today

Dunno why people act like Pollard is some scrub. Seems like everyone is still locked on Zekes first couple of years production like that was normal

If we did draft a Achane, .. would we bell cow and pound him into the ground, like we are currently doing with Pollard ?

We need some studs that can stop the run. It’s becoming increasingly frustrating watching our defense be abused on the ground. Our DL was getting repeatedly knocked backwards. The trenches are a huge problem.

We were not gonna do that (draft a RB high) .. after we just franchise tag our own Pro Bowl RB (Pollard)
and really a speed all purpose in his own right.

I wouldn't blame Pollard though. If your going to have a guy like Pollard be your #1 then you have to have a short yardage bruiser as well and not make your RB splash in the draft Deuce Vaughn. Or at least get a big guy via free agency. Our OL also hasn't had really good run blocking for at least 3 years

We’ll get to see him up close next week too. They use sparingly, but when they do he’s been a splash play running back.

Yeah, Cowboys have had a terrible run with Michigan draftees.

We need a running back in the mold of Charbonet from UCLA, now with Seatle.
Someone with size, strength and speed.

The Cowboys leaned in heavy to analytics last off season with several hires and revamping that department.

Analytics 101 is young low cost, mid round RBs. I expect at least one Day 2 RB and possibly a Day 3 one. Think Baltimore Ravens.

Of course, Stephen is still Stephen and since he loves the smell of his own farts, they may also go into the season expecting Rico Dowdle to be their main RB. That would be a mistake right up there with the “anyone can run behind this O line” and “ we don’t believe in a #1 WR” gaffes of off-seasons past.

With all three recent Michigan draftees it was bad football philosophies. Taco was the outdated belief that Watt couldn’t play in their scheme. Mazi was an overreaction to the Tush Push and they overlooked red flags about Mazi’s motor. Schoonmaker was a reaction to criticism for getting swooped by Buffalo for Kincaid.

Outside of those missteps, and Trysten Hill, they have really drafted quite well. More McClay and less Jones is they key to success there.

It's a skill player need in Dallas!! Trench players are almost worthless in the new day of football, snap, .3 seconds, throw. Great job trench guys! Basically worthless unless you hold on to the ball like awful QBs do.

Don't use a 1st or 2nd round pick on a TB. Especially with the needs we are going to have along the OL, for example.

Chase Brown would have been better in the 4th and there is nothing wrong with Michigan players and Schoonmaker is fine. How do you feel about Hutchinson on the Lions? How about Tom Brady?
