The Ticket's Mark Elfenbein had a great idea on his show today that I have to agree with. Elf thinks Jerry should open up the new Cowboys stadium for road games. It would give fans a chance to watch the game on the $40 million HDTV screen.

When I first started to think about the idea, I couldn't imagine Jerry making enough money to make it worth it. Then I realized, wow the sales would add up quickly. Let me break it down:

15,000 fans x $15= $225,000

5000 cars x $10=$50,000

10,000 fans buy 1 beer x $5= $50,000

Just on the bare minimum numbers alone, Jones would make around $450,000 before expenses. Let's face it, there would be more beers sold, my numbers are not counting food ($60 dollar pizzas), Jerry would probably charge for more for parking, and you have to get a Cowboys hat when you go.

Jones would make a fortune on away games. Money that would hopefully be sunk back into the Cowboys or to it's fans.

Someone needs to find out if he has thought about the idea? If not, someone maybe needs to point him to this blog.

That would be pretty cool. I'd go watch the game on that monster of a screen if I lived close.

I wonder how much it costs to operate that stadium for, say, eight hours? Just the scoreboard alone has to run up quite a bill.

That's a good question. He might have to charge more than $15.

I can't imagine it would be economical. It would be very short lived if it were even close due to dwindling numbers of people willing to pay to go see the stadium.

But I thought that big [strike]screen TV[/strike] scoreboard was to big?

Well not if the team isn't there.

the bill is like over 200,000 a day

$15 for me and my wife, another $10 for parking plus drinks?

I'm staying home for that.

That's for monthly utility bills. Doesn't count staff and upkeep.

I had said in another thread, could use it to show movies. That screen is like nothing else in the world, he could put it to more use.

I'd go to a movie there. As long as the sound is decent. I know that's something they still need to tweak.

Then just show porn, nobody would notice the sound or lack thereof...

There are certain parts of the anatomy I don't want to see that large.
