Does anybody on this board not know what play we are going to run at least 50% of the time? Garrett's offense has been simple since he got here.

R2+Right Analog up. So close. We need to show them the decoy art, R2+Right Analog left/right/down

the giants were sold as having the best defense in the league and the most fearsome front 7 around.

this pathetic group that needs a new coach and new qb scored 31 on them.

I am just trying to figure out how that is possible if we are terrible on offense? and if we are what does it say about the teams we played?

Because it's the way of the board; the easiest possible fix is always the most desirable one. Coaches are easier to replace than either players or a meddling owner.

Therefore, the problem must lie with the coaches and their predictability.

Lets have a "play calling" thread on game day. You go in there, call the play you think will be run and we'll see how it turns out.

Well if that is true, then how are we getting any yards?

we are the 4th ranked offense, if everyone knows our plays what doest that say about the giants, tampa and carolina?

Actually, the defense knows because they are calling most of our plays.

The only time that Garrett calls them you see the obvious results (2 fades in a row, 2 slants in a row). Those are actually the only two plays he knows.

I call BS to the Broncs knowing the plays beforehand. This is what happens when u loose...everyone jumps on u when u are down.

Thats why Barber and Choice ran all over them in the 1st half.

BS!

Talent?

Tampa Bay was too confused and likely talentless to do anything with whatever they picked up. It's been a while since we played Carolina and honestly we mostly just ran on them, same with the Giants. Even still the Giants made a huge play based on knowing what the Cowboys were audibling to.

This is part of the point.

All of this tends to center around the passing game. It did last year and it is the same case again.

Execution matters in all cases, but the only time I have ever seen where a team could run the same plays over and over again thanks to flawless execution is in the running game. We ran the same lead draw with Emmitt Smith for years. Green Bay ran their sweep for years. The Commanders did the Counter Trey. See a pattern here?

Passing plays have the most variance and variables. If you don't have the right safety, then you can't do some of the things the Giants or Ravens did to stop the pass. Since Garrett went to the pass, there you go. Tampa probably knew was well. They even talked about it during the game, Piscatelli knew what he should have done and he didn't.

It is also to note that McDaniels is a preparation fanatic. This shouldn't be that shocking. Good defenses appear to be very prepared for what we throw at them offensively, especially in the passing game.

Sounds like a good idea. But all you gotta do is call "draw" every play and you're going to be correct 60% of the time.

I haven't heard about that at all, but it is a stinging indictment of our offensive coordinator if that is indeed the case.
Cowboys currently have the 4th ranked offense in the league. So if they're predictable, they're winning on just damn talent.

Yes, I don't study film as much as I'd like to, but I call plays I think they will run based upon formation and players a lot.

Just execute better and it doesnt matter if their DC is in our own huddle... :)

You have to beat your man....

Seriously.....teams studey tape....players study tape.......you can fool them sometimes.....but usually .....you just have to beat your own man and execute the play and hopefully everyone is on the same page.

Routes usually have options.......the QB and WR just have to be on the same page....and execute the play.

Troy on WFAN later. said Brady criticized the absurd throwing at Champ but it seems Denver knew out plays based on formation.

no surprise but any more links?

FYI, Mike Francessa talks out of his ***.

typical reply from a pom-pom'er

how many did we score in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th QR vs DEN. if you throw a few test plays at an offense after a while it seems as if you can crack the code (unless the offensive play is spectacular you can tilt a field).

deny or not, i'm passing along what mike said and he's pretty plugged in. he's wrong about many things but he's not an an anti-jason crusade or anything.

Yes because I am a raging pom pom'er.

There goes Romo!

Look, it doesn't take a genius DC to outcoach either Phillips or Garrett. And they certainly don't need the plays ahead of time to do it.

It's really very simple. Send the bulls on every passing play, and stack the box on every running play. It's one or the other. Flip a coin. The defense will usually guess right because Garrett's play calling is so predictable and juvenile a baby could read what's coming. And Romo is sooo inept at calling audibles, it makes the play even more readable.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" This is the part where I start laughing and fully expect to see Romo running for his life. So I call it, the Romo is asking to be killed audible.

Now, everytime I hear, "Kill! Kill! Kill!" I yell, "No! No! No!"
