Baltimore/Ed Reed said the same thing last year. It's pretty obvious we're trying to play like it's 1993, i.e. not caring that the opponents know what play we're going to run because we know we'll beat them anyway.
now its happening yet again this year

we need to do something about garrett. its probably to late now but definitely next season if things arent fixed by the end of the year he needs to go pronto

Does anybody on this board not know what play we are going to run at least 50% of the time? Garrett's offense has been simple since he got here.

Exactly.

The Ravens said basically the same thing Denver is saying now, that our plays were so simple the defense knew exactly what was coming.

Once is a fluke, twice is a trend.

Face it fellas, Garrett is getting owned almost every Sunday now. As to the question of why teams cant stop us if they know our plays, keep in mind that the teams we beat this year are a combined 0-8.

To use a college football analogy, all our wins have come against Div 2 schools.............not alot to beat our chest over.;)

There is another possibility. Perhaps the Broncos are simply a better team than the Cowboys.:)

Definitely. This organization needs someone more experienced and professional. For whatever reason, Garrett is arrogant, and he doesn't seem to have the ability to change.

Just execute better and it doesnt matter if their DC is in our own huddle... :)

You have to beat your man....

Seriously.....teams studey tape....players study tape.......you can fool them sometimes.....but usually .....you just have to beat your own man and execute the play and hopefully everyone is on the same page.

Routes usually have options.......the QB and WR just have to be on the same page....and execute the play.

JMHO

I agree with you somewhat in that our WRs and QB are not on the same page. The WRs are just running bad routes amd having trouble getting open. I think it has more to do with that than opponents knowing our offense.

I do however think there is an element of truth to that theory. Aside from the truth that players should beat their opponents on the field, knowing the offenses can make good defenses great.

The simple truth is our receivers don't gain separation, at least not what Tony Romo thinks to be separation and it's stifling the whole offense.

It makes it harder to run when you have defensive backs sitting closer to the LOS for longer periods of time and obvious checkdowns waiting for the ball in passing situations committing LB's closer as well.

When you can't run, it makes it even harder to throw and the cycle continues. That's where Bill Parcells would shake things up with a trick play or Joe Gibbs would start calling designed rollouts or Marty Schottenheimer or Bill Walsh would throw designed plays to the running backs (the opposite of checkdowns).

Instead, Garrett keeps plugging away hoping for big plays from limited WR's. This may be the worst WR corps the Cowboys have had since the likes of Ray Alexander.

Imagine this team in the Pats uniform. Would they be favored to win w/ Bellichick & staff;think about it. hmmm.........

The new regime should have been set last year but the priority seems to be on the stadium & NOT the team thsi year!

was this discussed yet? sorta haven't payed attention to this futile team except just the games?

Troy on WFAN later. said Brady criticized the absurd throwing at Champ but it seems Denver knew out plays based on formation.

no surprise but any more links?

Mike Franseca is a blow hard, he's all about NY sports and thinks nothing of putting the zingers to any other team outside the Giants, Jets ,Yankee's & Mets. I happen to love the Yankee's so I sit through his condescending show, and watch him hang up on callers and act as his word is golden, but the scrutiny he dishes out about the Cowboys has no validity to it.

If the Broncos knew what plays we were calling, then hats off to the coaching of Josh McDaniels and his staff.

We underestimated those guys and went to Denver with a false sense of security in that everyone , including me, thought our experience and talent would help us to a win. The Broncos are a very good football team, no other way to describe them but as a Cinderella team of the 09 season.

Our WRs are a bunch of scrubs, that is the real problem.

How many other teams you watch does the QB have to line everybody up before the freaking snap???

Freaking college teams dont even do that crap, it is just getting down right embarrassing to be doing this crap in week 5!!!

Something I never understood is why, if Baltimore knew our plays before we ran them, we still scored 24 points. If they knew our plays, why did we score 9 more points than their average points allowed? It doesn't make sense, considering that only 3 teams scored more against the Ravens than we did...

Indianapolis - 31
New York Giants - 30
Cleveland - 27

I still think that the "we knew the plays" claim is bunk and that it probably is with Denver too. They didn't know what we were running, they simply had an idea (same as all teams) and they happened to guess right in some cases. That just happens and it isn't an indictment of Garrett's ability as an OC.
