What’s up with Amari Cooper?

Is Amari Cooper hurt? As of the 4th qtr yesterday, he was only on the field for 50% of the snaps. This was a curious stat concerning the number of snaps among Cowboys receivers yesterday as tweeted by Bob Sturm . It doesn’t show the final snap counts, but he’s clearly not on the field much yesterday.

His stat line? Only 4 targets and 2 receptions for 23 yards. Again- is Coop hurt? Is there something we don’t know going on with Coop? Michael Gallup had 95% of the snaps to Coop’s 50%? What gives?

Coop's been dealing with a plantar fascia foot problem since last year. It gets irritated at times.

I remember that, but last week he had 16 targets. This week only 4. His plantar problems go back to last year but he hasn’t had such a strange stat line since he’s been here. This just seemed odd to me.

I honestly didn't know he was in the game until the second half. Was to busy watching Lamb

How can you key on someone when they aren’t on the field? He was only on the field 50% of the time.

For when he was on the field. And as I said, could have been part of the game plan. Why they would do that.
I don't know, just throwing out some suggestions.

Those numbers seem off. Teams usually run between 50-70 offensive snaps per game. Even Gallup at 34 snaps seems very low. Maybe this graphic was intended to depict field time for minutes of offensive possession and not a snap count.

I get what your saying, and I'm sure there is some truth to it, but I think the OPs concern is that amari was on the field for less than 20% of snaps.

Extremely odd given that your #1 wr is typically on the field for 80%+ of offensive snaps.

Than explain why he only plays half the snaps? He’s our most experienced WR and he’s making 20 million this year.

Im not sure the numbers are right, but it’s one game. So they loved him last week, but hate him this week? That makes no sense.

We have a very talented group of receivers who are being utilized in various ways.

Cooper was literally #3 in the league in receiving yards before yesterday.

so he has been playing really well.

He is still 6th in the league even after yesterday’s game.

I’m not sure why his snaps were limited yesterday though.
