What a real GM should do-Dak and defense

They already have 2 3T on the roster in OSA and Clark and they are serviceable
I doubt they expend more resources there
The other areas I outlined have absolute garbage so much higher chance of real impact
Also 3T are more expensive

Serviceable means rotational type.

1. Fire Ebermess and hire an aggressive DC from a good defensive unit
2. Get a top 1T DT
3. Get a real MLB
4. Get a good FS

Now you have the makings of a solid defense

Lol. The 2026 draft's QBs are trash. Without Dak, you're looking at signing a FA like Mac Jones, Justin Fields and Sam Howell.

Jerry Jones always drops the ball in his hiring of NFL head coaches. Shotty is not the answer. 5 years or more down the line-if I'm still here- God willing-I'll be posting this same post again. What Dallas needs as a head coach are guys like Dan Cambell or Mike Vrabel. Both have gone in and made their teams tough as nails. Vrable did it in one year. But Jerry likes comfort. Comfort gets you coaches like Garrett -McCarthy and Schotty. Schotty is Garrett 2.0. Jerry says he'd take Eberlax and Shotty in a fox hole. I'd take Cambell and Vrable-thank-you.

Dak Prescott for whatever reason is not a BIG game quarterback. In big games for whatever the reason, he just goes glassy eyed. He freaks out. Maybe it's because he knows it's all on him. No help coming. Maybe he has no confidence in himself or the coaches. I'd go see a sports psychologist if I were him to discover why this happens. Yet he's great against lesser teams or even types. Maybe the whole team chickens out when a bully shows up.

On defense Dallas needs to go and get a young defensive coordinator. But once again "JERRY" goes out and makes another comfort for Jerry hire in Eberlax. Schotty had no say in the hire. How the hell does that keep happening? I'd move Marist to safety-next off season. I would only draft from schools like Ohio State-Texas-Alabama-USC and a few more on defense. Quit trying to prove you're smarter than everyone else by going to- I'd call them off-brand schools. Draft where the defensive talent is historically been.

Daks problem is not the big game.
Daks problem is good defenses.

If competition gets better the one read gameplan fizzels and so does or QB.

It is always the same Story for now about 10 years. And even in college. If its simple stuff like "read this player and then depending on what he does throw it to that guy" Dak looks good. But if that doesnt work he is done. Like he is not able to read defenses correctly. We dont run the qb options now for what? 7 years now. Just because they guy is not able to read the DE.

Biggest problem is that he believes all those mediots that talk him ip with their empty phrases. Because of that he thinks he is the man who has to take over when competition gets tougher. Its like you can watch Desaster coming. You can essentially read the guys brain. And 5 minutes later the INTs, stupid sacks, ill advised throws keep coming.

They guy is just a bad player. But its a sign of times that with medicore to no talent you can be successful - well only money wise.

Put it this way, a quality GM would have never retained Dak at what they extended him the first time let alone extend him again. A quality GM would never have agreed to a no trade clause.

I agree with everything you said, except about Dak not being a big game QB. That is not true, and even you know it. That's your anger talking. Dak has shown up many a times during big games against big teams, even this season alone, so why make such stuff up other than you can't control your emotions? Don't be making up stuff. It destroys all the other good points you made.

Dak could definitely use a much tougher head coach and coordinators. I vehemently pounded the table for Jerry to go after Mike Vrabel. Most made fun of my suggestion. As you said, look at the results for Vrabel in New England in less than a year. Amazing. That should and could have been us, but so many from Jerry, to Stephen, to the fans, to the majority in here don't like a tough-as-nails coach who constantly yells at you and makes you do things you don't like doing or become much more physical. Why not? Because it's like the military. It sucks to mentally and physically be forced to develop and workout daily/repeatedly nonstop into such hard, beatdown, breaking down workouts and psychological training for months and years to come. Most people can't hack it. It's too hard for them. Yet, that is exactly what this spoiled cream puff team and culture needs.

As you said, until this changes, nothing is going to change in Dallas for this Cowboys franchise.

Jerry has already stated many times that he has no desire to hire a coach who is in the mold of a Parcells. Also most people here would have been surprised if Jerry actually hired a guy like Vrabel. Was never going to happen. Not because the fans don't want it, but rather because the lousy owner does not want it. We keep trying to "change culture" every off season and yet it still persists like a bad rash. Why? Because the owner wants it that way. This clown show exists because of the owner, not in-spite of him.
