I can best sum up the Lions with these words:

The inmates are running the asylum

The players have no discipline. They had none under Mornhinweg, they had none under Mariucci, and they don't have any today.

I read stories about "teammates turning against Harrington", well guess what? Whoever has the problem with the team's franchise quarterback should be the one to hit the road! What Lions player has played well enough to even have an opinion much less pulling some NFL mutiny?

I'm glad the Cowboys still have him, but a disciplinarian like Parcells would be just what the Lions need.

Mike Williams is eating his way towards being an olineman
well, he's the same size than our HOF Rayfield Wright when we drafted him.

take a look at Rayfield wearing Williams number as a rookie TE in 1967

Lions | Two key wide receivers not impressing the coaching staff
Thu, 6 Apr 2006 21:08:56 -0700

Tom Kowalski, of mlive.com, reports just three short weeks into the Detroit Lions offseason conditioning program, sources said WRs Charles Rogers and Mike Williams have not impressed the new coaching staff. Rogers has been attending the workouts but the coaches have been underwhelmed by his attitude and focus. Rogers alleged reputation for being a partier remains. Williams didn't show up for any of the workouts last week. His agent said he left because of a "family matter.'' Williams is reportedly out of shape and overweight. Both wide receivers will need to improve their focus, or they could find themselves battling for a roster spot.

I wish I had the physical gifts to be a starting NFL WR. I guarantee you I wouldn't be sitting around getting fat or out partying like a 1 year collegiate frat boy. For the amount of money I would be getting, staying in shape and staying focused would be a year round priority...

well the problem is some kids dont have the discipline to do that because of the way the NFL rookie contracts work...they get too much money up front

I've long been a proponent of having a true rookie cap like the NBA does because unproven rookie 1st rd picks shouldnt be getting paid double digit signing bonuses in their 1st yr no matter what position they play

Matt Millen shouldn't have a job right now. We all agree on that. But as Jerry Jones has proved to us there is always hope that the man in charge can learn from past blunders and change for the better. I think Millen has made better decisions this off-season.

Not sure what to make of their WR's.

Wow, I was one of those who wanted Mike Williams.

I was in Disney during the time of last year's draft. My cousin would call me every hour to give me the picks.

When Mike Williams was still around after the #9 pick, I thought he was in the bag as a Cowboy. Who would have expected the Lions to take THREE WR's three years in a row with top 10 picks.

Anyway, we didn't get him. It was for the better.

WR's are lazy and bad route runners, and could care lesws, but most people wanted to blame Harrington, Now we begin to see what the people really was in Dertoit..
I told you before that the WR's were the biggest people with the Offense..Not Harrington,,

Dallas should give a 5th and trade for this guy...

While I am in the same camp about Harrington mostly, he is still damaged goods. Perhaps damaged beyond repair.

This is where sometimes I understand BP's madness about not putting in QBs too soon. It drives me up the wall starting some like Vinny, who is as bad as a Rookie QB most of the time, but still, its better in the long run than losing a potentially a good young QB permanently.

And Harrington might be a good case in study on how a good potential QB might have been destroyed pshycologically. Not that I pity him or anything, but its just that I wouldn't want him on this team at this point, unless the Coaches/Staff think, Romo/Henson have no promise. Since they seem to think there is promise in Romo/Henson, I doubt they will trade for Harrington.

If any young QB has been damaged beyond repair it should be Carr- no one has ever taken so many sacks so early in their career.

As I mentioned in my post, about its about psychological mindset of Harrington. The way he wanted out of Detroit, saying that he thinks everyone on that team hates him. Although its only defensive side of team, even at that only handful seem to not like him.

And then relentless battering by Lions fans ( I lived in Detroit till 2004, so he took relentless beating from Lions fans, which is pretty much norm for every QB that goes to Detroit anyway), combined with games played by Mariucci, I think have him in a defensive mode right now. It will take 2-3 years, IMO, to undo that damage. Unless BP is going to stay here till then, I doubt this is a good situation for him.

Miami is perhaps a good situation or even Bengals. Since both have legitimate Pro-bowl QBs, when healthy, he wont have issues about starting soon or counted on as starter. That way he can sit behind and just start working towards starting in NFL again. Miami might be tougher since it still have Marino for comparison, while Bengals at least wont even want Harrington to start unless Palmer is injured. In Dallas, Fans will be merciless as soon as he throws first Int. most likely, and he will be back to square on IMO.

I may die of laughter if that happens. They better not draft TE Vernon Davis either. No more catching guys. Do something for that Defense. Hell, draft Cutler. Anything but draft a guy to catch the ball.

Kevin Jones is a nice player, but to this point he is not exactly a world beater. 186 rushes for 664 yards, 3.6 yards per carry and 5 TDs last year.
didn't he miss some games last year too?
