What about the FG kickers in camp so far?

Aubrey is super limited

Not bringing back Mayer will hands down end up being the BIGGEST mistake this organization will have made this entire season....100% guaranteed!!!

There are a couple of teams that have two good kickers on their roster during camp.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in one of the kickers that gets cut.

I would keep an eye on the patriots.

They drafted a kicker in the 4th round and also have Nick Folk. If the patriots keep the rookie kicker and cut folk. I could see the cowboys bringing him back if needed.

His name isn't Mayer.

They have 2 kickers.
Last year, they had 2 kickers, too.

But the difference this year is that last year's 2 kickers didn't have a lot of pedigree that would suggest either would stick. The Texas Tech kid, in particular, wasn't even that highly regarded to begin with. Hajrullahu at least had had a decent showing here and in CAR before, but his leg strength had always been a question mark.

Vizcaino is more or less this season's Hajrullahu type candidate. Aubrey is coming off a very compelling season. What concern I have is based on my ignorance... can a kicker kick too much? Could his leg tire like a starting pitcher's arm might tire after 300 innings? I really don't know. Spring football being so new, it's not anything I figure anyone has had to consider until now.

Unfortunately there's gonna be no true way to judge a kicker in practice there's nothing on the line there's no pressure I mean they're back there relaxed knowing all they gotta do is kick the ball it's practice. Put them in the middle of a 90,000 crowd with the game on the line it's a whole different thing getting the snap right because that's also part of it you got guys lining up ready to come rush over the two gaps and it doesn't take much to mess up a snap and try to get the ball down. In practice I don't think they're going to have any problem with the mechanics, that's the problem, we will find out in some of the preseason games when it's really live and it's really full speed and there's really a crowd and even though it's a fake game the other team is going to be trying to stop you.
Their jobs are on the line, I'd say that's pressurised.

Can we get rid of this clown Bones? That's one coach that is just as useless as they come.

How is Aubrey limited?
Didn’t kick in college. Kicked two years in the USFL and is already 28.

It’s the same approach Dallas tends to want to take. Sign unproven / UDFA type and hope it pans out.

It paned out well last year.

As I recall last year, there was a lot of panic out there lead by R J Ochoa who was going ape **** crazy and they ended up having a very good kicker.
