What about trading for Barkevius Mingo

I don't think Mingo is an end at all in a 4-3. From what I remember watching him at LSU he doesn't like contact. He's a guy that looks terrific when he can use his speed in space, but rarely did anything when engaged by a blocker. He also is about 235-240 lbs and looks like a safety...

He doesn't seek out contact, no. But with closing speed like that why would you.

Idk would've been nice if someone coulda chased down a one legged Rodgers once or twice

Isn't this the 2nd post, of randomly trading for a guy?

What about Richard Sherman?

Well contact isn't really a choice when you have your hand on the ground and a 310 pound OT in front of you...

It's a plentiful year for good pass rushers in the draft. We don't need to trade for Mingo to get a good one this year.

You are mistaken...There are about 4 highly rated pass rushers who could play DE in a 4x3 that might start
the 1st game this year. None of those four will be around when we pick at 27. I don't see any DT's who
could be dominant day one starters so that leaves FA for finding someone to rush the passer who
might have an impact.

I understand Demarcus Ware was picked 11th overall, but he came out of no where, right before the draft, so it might be a little early, to make this claim.

I know it's the parents, but who names these kids these days?

Mingo is the son of Hugh Mingo and Barbara Johnson. He has two older brothers, Hugh and Hughtavious and one younger brother, Malik. His unusual first name was created by his mother, adding the first three letters of her first name to a name she liked, Kevious.

That's cool. But too much creativity for me. Lol

Mingo is a 240lb. LB underachieving in a 3-4 system... and the OP wants to trade for him and convert him to a 4-3 pass rusher?..
So many people like to jump to stats to make their case... here's some stats; 84 tackles in 30 games played along with 7 sacks...
not to mention he has the Cleveland stench on him.... I know we're all bored and waiting for something, anything, newsworthy
so I don't blame the OP for trying to kill some time but please stay away from Cleveland...:)

a) You actually took the time to google the origin of his name? Or b) did you know somehow this by heart already?:)

I'll trade CB Morris Claiborne for him. Or Coples for Claiborne. Either is fine with me. Just get rid of Claiborne.

I doubt he will ever be traded but Mingo is as good a person as they come. He is dedicated, unselfish, honest and a hard worker. I had the privilege of seeing him play several games for West Monroe High before he moved on to LSU. He was raw but his talent was out of this world. I do not believe he has still reached his ultimate potential.

Yea except I said I knew he had no stats, when you have no cap room and limited resources you buy low. See rOrlando McLain.

I liked Antonio brown and Russell Wilson in the draft.

All the Cowboys have to do is trade for Darrelle Revis, Richard Sherman, JJ Watt, Luke Kuechly, Calvin Johnson, Tamba Hali, and sign Suh, and I think they've got this.

They don't necessarily have to be classified as so called "elite" to be highly effective. There are many who could go as late as the third round and still be considerably better than anything we have besides Lawrence. That is what many of the knowledgeable draft gurus have been saying for months now.

Afaik he hasn't out up any big stats in Cleveland but he was a top 10 pick and is hyper athletic and rangy. Would immediately be the best athlete on our d.

We're not looking for athletes, we're looking for FOOTBALL PLAYERS...maybe that's where you're confused..

Although his size is more of a LB. He would probably be a better fit in a 4-3 because it's easier to play. Some guys just aren't a good fit to play both forward and backwards.
