What are Cowboys going to do with Extra Cap Space?

I think free agent LB and K are real possibilities. Maybe a CB if Joseph continues to burn his bridge.

We got Gurley'ed. Ha ha ha

18.2 million and I guarantee ya were prolly gonna start him Ha ha ha

He has like 11.8 in million in Dead Money in 2023 If I'm not mistaken too.

Zeke's gonna eat alright. Lmao

That's why I said take the cheap rookie stud RB at #24 and cut bait.

He's been running in quicksand for 2 years.

We're not trying to win. Just not look stupid and it's not working lmao
This team taking a RB @24 would have been a horrible mistake.

I believe Dallas has $11M in cap room. I assume if they don't use it they lose it. How will they use this much cap when they never sign anymore expensive?
Roll it over to next season.

They’re preparing for CeeDee, Parsons and Diggs. If they keep progressing it will take every ounce of cap space we have to re-sign them. We won’t be adding any high priced outside free agents in the foreseeable future.

Personally would like to see them go after Akiem Hicks at DT and Will Fuller

Whatever they roll over to next year should go towards Dak's salary ($31,000,000).
Do not restructure and give a bonus check that pushes it down the road.

If his salary isn't reworked, we're only on the books for
2024 - $39,940,000 (life w/o Dak)

If pushed out further, this above number gets harder to deal with.

No more ...

a mistake for this year or next year. Lol.

You have more faith in our RB core going forward than I do.

I've been watching a declining stuck in 2nd gear RB for 2 years. The rbs hit a brick wall come playoff time.

They got showed up by a wr playing double duty lol

Exactly, its not like drafting a RB high would somehow magically reduce or eliminate Zekes contract.
it's not like playing Zeke w a bad knee is gonna get us very far either. Maybe against our division. Lol. That dead money is there regardless. It's just a question of finding a replacement.

I'd rather have a future RB now going into this year. Then we plan out the exit strategy when we have a replacement on the roster

We're still paying for the prime player he used to be. He's getting more gurleyish every day

If we're paying him we're playing him is not a WINNING PHILOSOPHY.

18.2 million for a blocker and goal line RB is all we're gonna get.

They don't have much room on the roster at this point. They clearly are going with younger players with 28 rookies in camp and Clark on PUP. Maybe they sign Anthony Hitchens.

Does that include signing all the rookies?

Yeah teams just roll over whatever is not spent. Next years number will go up.
Jerry and front office are just satisfied with where this team is, they don't want to compete for a SB. I can't believe we have been through 27 years of this BS.
I literally do not even remember the last time this team actually went for it.

I wouldn't mind betting we do a Michael Bennett type deal at some stage during the season. We gave up a 6th round pick on a salary cap dump and I could see us doing something similar at LB, WR, or some other position where we are a little short for 2022.
