What are Cowboys going to do with Extra Cap Space?

I believe Dallas has $11M in cap room. I assume if they don't use it they lose it. How will they use this much cap when they never sign anymore expensive?

I think we'll find a Michael Bennet type trade mid-season but most of it will be rolled over.

6/1: Add around $10M Collins = $23.4M
Draft class: Subtract $5.7M = $17.7M

Remember, only the top 51 contracts count against the cap. So when you sign a guy he might bump #51 off. So our rookie cap is around $9M but the cap hit will be under $6M based on our current roster makeup. We can sign our draft picks after 6/1 which would give us plenty of cap space to sign a couple of players before and after we get the extra space from designating Collins a post 6/1 cut and still roll some into next year.

Just because Parsons is under contract for four more years doesn’t mean he’s going to want to continue playing under his rookie deal if he feels he’s outplayed it. We had to extend Zeke with two years remaining on his rookie deal.

I live by and support the RB by committee, and te by committee also. Which we rarely ever seldom use btw.

But I'm grabbing the most talented skilled positions to use in the committee. Draft # is irrelevant to me. You take the best players that fall to you .

Look at Nakobe Dean. He was one of the best values in the draft.

I don't believe in chasing rushing champ records. I believe in winning. I want rbs that can score and perform at the "playoff level" grade as a core. Ours couldnt

We use a next man up philosophy on offense and a defense by committee system.

I'm trying to get better on offense to make Dak into a top QB not a #10. We let too much talent and production get away in the skilled positions

Id rather have a 4th round olineman this year and these 3 skilled players for years to come. I'll grab a top olineman when they fall into my lap

That will be next year, but I still wouldnt use a first rounder. You can get great backs in round 2-4. I would also never give a guy 95% of the carries anymore. Use a RB by committee going forward. This way you always avoid having to pay big money and your not dependent on one guy.

There was a huge dropoff in talent after those top 2 rbs. Most of those rbs that made it to the 4th round were coinflip committee ceiling backs. And we didn't improve the failing committee (who will prolly be gone next year).

We would feel pretty confident that Brece hall, Jelani woods, and Tolbert could come in and make an immediate impact in the skilled positions. And pick up the lost production

And Pollard is treated like the change of pace back.

Pollard would make a great committee back with Breece Hall or Ken Walker.

I feel pretty good about our defensive coaches and unit ascending with Quinn and those lower round picks

I just wish we had a stacked the offense in the skilled positions. I just don't have much confidence in our offensive coaches ascending this offense w the players we drafted and in fa yet.

You don't need to have chemistry w the QB to run the ball. Imo That's why I liked having a powerhouse run attack vs what we saw in the playoffs.

It's hard to beat those top qbs without a dynamic run attack or steaks at every wr and te position imo
