Why are they not starting the rookie smith at left guard? Why are they wasting important reps and even messing with his confidence. Get your best 5 set and stop playing around. Where is the head coach. Is he ********? Where is the the aggression and nastiness with the ol???

OL IS SOFT. NO BALLS. let lb steam role zeke in no tackle practice. Denver guy dancing and prancing after ran Zeke over and y’all do nothing!!!! Pathetic. Embarrassing

Also sign 1-2 decent /best ol available and cut crap players you drafted ie Ball - just CAUSE YOU DRAFT SOMEONE DOESNT MEAN THEY ARE GOOD AND SHOULD BE KEPT!!!!!
first off come the ef down! secondly, let the competition happen, its best,

lastly are you kidding me!! ??

you do not read and follow this team closely or you would see the coaches publicly told the team to NOT fight not get in skirmishes and still a lot broke out to point they almost stopped the scrimmage, so say they arent tough, fighting is stupid gets you penalties and thats what MM is trying to get control of and warned all his players to not go after fights in this scrimmage.
keep up or dont post dribble. zeke got hit hard , so its football. You win some you lose some.

I can watch two minutes of film on a guy and know more about his natural abilities than the coaches who've watched a hundred hours.

Body build and bone structure repeat themselves. So I can also tell you that Badiasz will always be average and that Steele will tucker out the second half of the season. So I don't know football.....I know people.

#BiadaszHate

look up how many sacks he gave up last season.

he had over 1100 snaps.

TFred is gone.

they were lucky to draft a Rimington Tropy C in the 4th round.

They're making the rookie earn it. That is a tactic used for decades in the nfl. Aaron says relax

Theyre all playing VERY 'relaxed' tonight and getting throttled just like they did the other day vs. Denver in practice. Soft..........

Philbin is a finesse OL coach.

He prefers technicians to maulers.

Tyler Smith is an absolute mauler.

Smith will take time learning how to be a technician, patience required.

But he will dominate as a run blocker from day one. Cowboys will be able to run left or right behind Zack or Tyler.

The problem will be running it straight up the gut or running wide right.

The Cowboys are probably keeping their options open with Tyler Smith.

Suppose they put him at LG and give him all the reps at that position. So what happens if Tyron Smith goes down during the first drive of game #1? they put in Ball? I think not.

They maintain some flexibility if they give Tyler Smith reps at multiple position.

The coaches should not put the five best offensive linemen on the field unless they form the best possible offensive line with potential contingencies for injury.

The bottom line is that, in any case, the five offensive linemen chosen to start will take time to work together as a cohesive unit.

Let's try to look at today in a positive light for the offensive line, indeed the entire team. So long as they work hard to improve, what we see today should be the very worse of what we will see all season long.

If they don't have any confidence in Ball they should have brought in a veteran swing tackle, they had CAP dollars and guys were available.

Just another example of why Jerry will never win another SB.

The price is inflated for those linemen nearing the end of their careers. Most likely there will be more options as teams begin cutting players at the end of preseason.

How many genuine swing tackles exist in the NFL? I'm talking about one coming in and playing close to the level of a starter.

Of course, if a tackle goes down for an extended period of time then the swing tackle becomes a starter and they have to start the process all over again.

It would seem to me that they don't need a swing tackle, they just need versatility among their linemen.

Couldn't they just switch a starting guard to tackle and put in a new guard? Both Tyler and Zack can play tackle.
