I would agree with you at 3 of the positions, but to me, we are still lacking at the 3 technique. I dont see even one deep there. A guy ranked as one of the worst DT in the league cant possibly be even one deep. And if no one can beat him out, that is a problem.

In my opinion, DT is a top priority as well as RB.

Tyrone Crawford is the 3-technique.

I remember setting out to watch tape on Will Sutton, current Bears DT who was drafted in 2014. He played next to Coleman at ASU.

Sutton was the popular guy that everyone rated highly. But I just couldn't watch the tape on Sutton without noticing this Coleman bloke. He was disruptive. Looked powerful. I liked him even more than Sutton.

Hopefully he's finally matured and is ready to bring his game up to the level I know he's capable of.

I did the exact same thing once upon a time when watching video of our newest draft choice at the time, Bobby Carpenter. Most experts were really high on A.J. Hawk, with Bobby Carpenter being a strong second choice from that Ohio St. squad. But after watching a bunch of highlights, there was another guy on that defense who kept showing up in nearly every vid. His name? Donte Whitner. I kept thinking, THIS is the MVP of that defense! And I would have to say of the three, he has been the most successful pro.

I seen a lot more from the DEs Gardner and Edwards as far as pressure on the QB than most pre seasons, albeit last pre-season with Bishop and Coleman on the team.

That's why you leave evaluation and coaching up to the pros that do this for a living on the field, not someone like me setting in a comfy chair behind an internet screen. Maybe Lavar Edwards and Ben Gardner aren't the players for this team we thought they were or could be, when compared to Bishop and Coleman. Fans don't want to be right, you want Dallas to come correct.

Started driving the Coleman bandwagon after Week 1 of the preseason. Getting pretty full now. Dude's a beast in the middle.

People were pretty into him last year... you may recall he played against the 49ers in game one for us.

A closer look at one of the Dallas Cowboys off-season's great success stories, Davon Coleman.

By the end of the Minnesota Vikings game, most people knew who number 60 on the Dallas Cowboys was, and those who didn't certainly did by the end of the Houston Texans game. One could be excused for limiting the excitement, however, as both of those games his destructive power was mostly unleashed against second- and third-string players. Could Davon Coleman really be disruptive against true NFL starting talent?

Turns out the answer is yes.

Very little attention was paid to the fact that Coleman (and BIshop) both played against the starters in the first two pre-season games. The results were actually quite satisfying. Specifically one of the things Coleman does best is make the players around him better. In all of the ensuing shots, Coleman is identified by a blue circle.

Coleman will be a very good tackle.

The demon spirit of Greg Hardy will possess Davon Coleman these first four games and he will conquer the trenches from the inside. Once Hardy gets back, the D will be unbeatable.

Last year the Cowboys had 28 team sacks. I'm thinking the over/under for this year is about double that.

56?

That's a huge, huge number in this day & age.

If this was in the day before pass-blocking rules were more liberalized and corners could get away with more, I would say 50+ was a very good number. I think 45 is the 'magic number'. They hit 45 and you're going to be seeing a very good defense.

I'm optimistic that the light has come on for Coleman. He said as much himself in a recent interview about how he's worked on working smarter and being more professional. Maybe that argument with Hardy was the best thing for him and he now realizes his potential and the opportunity in front of him.

He may be the guy that ultimately gives so many their wish and makes Hayden expendable.

In 2014 Dallas had a top tier 3rd down conversion rate Defensively, a very under rated stat when comparing to Sacs. Going into 2015 the 3rd down conversion rate consistency is still the main key Defensively for every Team, even over Sacs.

I know many wish G-Cock was merely an afterthought, but I hope he comes out balling. If not, then the G-Cock can go limp to the bench as nice depth.

Not the best comparison, but... is it possible we have found another Jay Ratliff (minus, sorta the head-case). Ratliff - 7th rounder, Coleman - undrafted. Both a little screwy, could it be that Hardy getting into him at the start of camp has finally got his head on straight. Had heard he was the joker, crack up of the team, didn't take things seriously. Until he was put in his place, and the proverbial light seemed to come on. He's not the intimidator Ratliff was - yet, but I think if Hardy and Co. stay on him - physically he could blossom - damm I hope so ... I actually like Coleman better than Bishop, but am hoping both do well !

I agree we have two more years ti figure him out.
If Coleman returns to his lazy ways we can let him walk.
That's the last thing I hope happens. Getting him to breath fire
will be a big component in our rush development

Just did some digging. Here is what we did "back in the day" when we had a Super Bowl type team.

1992 - 44 sacks
1993 - 34 sacks
1994 - 47 sacks
1995 - 35 sacks

I'll admit I was a little surprised by what I found.

I liked Bishop last season and thinks he is under the radar too. Hopefully the staff gives both of these guys more and more time over the Golden Cock.

My question is how is it that Will Sutton got all the press?
Was it Zona's scheme? Coleman is displaying all the traits
that Sutton supposed to have had.

Yeah. Heard the same thing from BB on the draft show or Twitter last year. Been waiting for him to be right. Looks like that time's here.
