nope, everything Ive read says that for once he actually did something right. He was a great football player but he sucks at everything except football. I will be happy when he is out of the broadcast booth for good, but his speech was very very good.

If you listened to his speech as you say you did, he has a pretty good life, if he never steps on the field again, in the broadcast booth, or anywhere else related to football.

Also, he's been clean for quite some time...and I believe his drug issues were cocaine-related and not crack.

As for how you feel about him in the broadcast booth, quite a few Cowboys fans feel the same way, so that's neither here nor there.

The fact you consider him an *** right after praising his speech is kinda odd, but hey that's the kind of emotion that Irvin generates from folks.

Art Monk not being there is a shame, but irvin was a no brainer first ballot guy based on his career

I am kind of upset, I live in NY and one of my best friends is a jets fan, so I spend alot of time at jetsinsider.net. However their post on the speech is a damned travesty, and I lost most of my respect for those guys over there because of it, false accusations of wife beating and his supposed bull**** speech. I made my last post over there because of it.

It's sad when you see people, in this case even the older fans, just being bitter and vindictive, to a damned near spiteful degree, I don't even see how they can call themselves fans of the game.

It wasn't his... Just an unfortunate incident. And the friend stepped up to take responsiblity for it as well as a ton of supporters speaking on his behalf.

You can choose to believe or disbelieve. I completely understand. Some people just have unreasonable hate for someone they've never met.

Has anyone seen Michael Irvin? Because it's time for him to give his Hall of Fame speech, but he's not there. Instead, there's a man who is giving a contrite, humble, and stirring speech.

The other guy looks like Michael Irvin. But he's not acting like Michael. He's acting like a guy that we would love to see covering the NFL every week, a guy to whom we'd love to listen give his opinions on the NFL, on life, and on anything else he'd care to talk about.

Lol yeah just like the falcons fans rip anyone who disaproves of vicks dogfighting. Funny how people stick up for scumbags when they are on/played for their team. There is a reason so many people hate michael irvin, and its not because he is a cowboy. Ive always been an emmit and aikman fan as have lots of other people I know. Personal problems/mistakes << executing dogs/shooting and spitting and misc offenses

He is not in trouble for dogfighting only... its the cruelty of the deaths of those dogs....

besides Vick sucks as a QB - Pacman is a game changer I will give him that....

Irvin was great would have been greater if it was all about him.... he never made it about him... so SALUTE
