I have even seen him fumble in "mid-pat". Literally drop the ball. It is unnecessary and dangerous. It is not some harmless mechanical twitch. It adds motion to his delivery.
Take a look around. It is not common at all. Most may move their arms around, but patting the ball with both hands is rare. Hence the nausea.

I mean one or two pats before throwing I have seen from different QBs many times over.
I have never noticed it with drew bledsoe but to be fair I do not sit and watch the mans hands with grim wonder.
Actually if I start doing so I am going to blame all of you that have brought it up.
Thanks you pain in the butts. :

Improved play all around and I will be ecstatic.

What is the morbid hatred fascination with those and Drew Patting the ball.
Like if he does it, it will make someone puke....seriously why is it so bad to some of you guys. I am sure many QBs do it and even those that don't probably have their own little quirks.
It is one thing to bash a guy for being a statue, missing plays, fumbling or so on...but patting the ball???
blindzebra said:If you can take a look at the game again, just focus on his hands and feet.
He patted the ball 3 or 4 times several times.
It would not be a huge deal if it was drop, pat, set feet, fire, but Bledsoe drops, pats, sets feet, pats, pats, gets happy feet and will not actually feel where the pressure is coming from and move into a sack.
The sack/fumble happend right in front of us and it was ugly, he got hit mid pat.

I wish for... I know it won't happen, but.... I wish for....
A good screen pass.
I know, I know... won't happen. I can wish though.

blindzebra said:Not really, that was a tell.
The pat is a tell, leads to sacks, and takes one hand off the ball which leads to fumbles.
The pat is worse.
