You don't get it, so I'll spell it out:
1. It's a tell...he does it after he makes a read, a defender looks in and sees a pat and he knows the ball ain't coming there.
2. It slows down his release...he does it resets, he does it again and the DL starts getting close and he starts getting happy feet, he does it again and...
3. It takes a hand off the ball while he's moving with defenders around him...the sack and fumble and the strip become a likely outcome.
Yeah it's much better than getting a jump on the snap.
