Band, song, and video link of whenever you see this during the day. Maybe a way to get exposed to other music that isn't playing in your area.

WEIRD official video, good song.

Helena Beat, Foster the People. Linking to lyrics version of the video since the original has an offensive sign. Most stations are overplaying the living crap out of "Pumped Up Kicks". San Antonio just started playing it after it's been on the air for 6 or more months in Austin.

Not gonna dig one of 100 tiny bands I know of, but one that is as big as Foster the People.

I first learned of The Joy Formidable when someone I knew directed one of their music videos as while back, like 2 years ago. Anyway they are rare in that on stage they can play the same exact thing you hear on recorded material.

Maybe it is my nostalgia but it reminds me of the late 90's-2000's, a guilty pleasure of mine.

Listening to a lecture by an anarcho-capitalist. Breaks forum rules.

ha! The cat video is what I call it. Like their sound.

I was beyond pissed I couldn't hit up ACL fest. AWOLNATION, Foster the People, Arcade Fire, Airborne Toxic Event, Young the Giant...:banghead: :bang2: :banghead:

Arcade:

That sound really sounds, to me at least, a lot like Naked and Famous - Young Blood.

Which reminds me of MGMT, Kids. (Fan video has more plays than their official one) This one has a polyphonic nostalgia feel to it. 1:39-1:41 make me laugh every time I see it.

I listen to the album "Songs for Swingin' Lovers" all of the time. One of my most favorite ever. Curiously enough I may follow it up with AC/DC, Scorpions or Black Sabbath. Then some George Strait or Merle Haggard, topped off with Maroon 5, B52's or Pretenders. You may also get some Handel, Pachelbel, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Gershwin or opera...

It's really a roll of the dice when you get in to my Rover...

LOL

Mine is undoubtedly one that very few on this forum will have ever heard of. I have an affinity for rodeo songs. I stuck in a CD I made of some awhile back. As I opened this thread, this was the song playing.

No video attached, but just a great story in the song.

I hope you enjoyed it. I know some won't give it a try and some who do will hate it because it is country music.

Ah Marty Robbins. I had a few of his CD's that disappeared from my catalog during college.

The sound of that one reminded me of this one by Johnny Horton. A few interesting period still photos in the video. Lucky find.

Given my affinity for WW2, this one also begs to be listed here. Hit them decks a runnin' boys and spin them guns around...

Footnote to history, amazing that a biplane deserves a huge share of the credit for the sinking of such a mighty naval vessel.

Well, this is kind of what I am listening to...
The last 2 days I have opened the OT Zone & saw this thread, I wasnt actually listening to music, but I did have a song stuck in my head. What is weird about it is that I don't often listen to country music (I like country OK, just not my first choice). Anyway, yesterday this song was stuck in my head when I opened the thread (actually a pretty good song):

This morning when I opened this zone, I had another country song stuck in my head - one from when I was a kid. We had it on an old jukebox in my parents house. The song kinda spooked me when I was 10 yrs old. Not sure why it got in my head this morning... I haven't thought of it in years.

Thanks for the new music ideas, I try to keep my eyes open for new good music.

I've been listening to a lot of Sammy Hagar lately, mostly his older stuff.

This is a little song that the main guy from the band made for his daughter as a fun song. Oddly enough it gets stuck in your head after a listen or two.
