Was just hunting down some older, hot Brazilian Jazz Funk fusion, and ended up checking out this old favorite of mine on the Youtube. Ron Carter bass!

Boy, that Ray Horton stuff really brought back memories. Some of the first albums I ever played the grooves off of as a kid were Horton and Marty Robbins.

I've got this riff half way figured out. Love it.

Cool riff. It'd sound better on some hum buckers and without a dog barking for their vocals though.

Wow, these folks are great! Danged impressive early American music, with a modern, eclectic stylee.

I'd always wanted to start up a afro-bluegrass band; four pickers, four drummers. Think I have been sorta scooped here though.

Thanks for the link!

Mine is undoubtedly one that very few on this forum will have ever heard of. I have an affinity for rodeo songs. I stuck in a CD I made of some awhile back. As I opened this thread, this was the song playing.

No video attached, but just a great story in the song.

I hope you enjoyed it. I know some won't give it a try and some who do will hate it because it is country music.

Have not heard that song in years.Great

Ah Marty Robbins. I had a few of his CD's that disappeared from my catalog during college.

The sound of that one reminded me of this one by Johnny Horton. A few interesting period still photos in the video. Lucky find.

Given my affinity for WW2, this one also begs to be listed here. Hit them decks a runnin' boys and spin them guns around...

Footnote to history, amazing that a biplane deserves a huge share of the credit for the sinking of such a mighty naval vessel.

He had another ,I think the name was Master's Call. And Chris Ledoux had some great rodeo songs back when he was rodeoing and before he went into mainstream country music.

Had one talking about rodeo life and driving from one rodeo to another ,
"Flying high on caffeine and Copenhagen and breathing that cool night air"
