What are your Plans?

Other than beer (which goes together with football like peanut butter and ladies), what do you all like to drink while watching???
I'm boring, about the only thing I drink at all is water. Occasionally milk or juice, but for breakfast only. Now and then lemonade. I prefer water to anything else though.

I'd like to call it healthy, and I like it personally. I personally don't drink, never have, but I like water/fruit punch, anything non-carbonated.

Geez, if "Howie" had cooked this up on Top Chef last night, he wouldn't have been eliminated

I gave up soda pop 18 years ago because of carbonation. It'll be 19 years in October. I doubt if I will ever drink another one in my life. A lot of alcoholics in my family. I decided at 14 years old not to drink and fall into the traps I saw my family in. Water is the only drink I've ever found that actually satisfies thirst.

Sorry!!!

I gotta say, that guy could have played grunt guard or fullback on an old school team. He had the build AND the disposition - I got into that program this summer just because he was so freaking amusing.

I used to watch that show until I read the disclaimer at the end about how the judges consult the producers about eliminating chefs. Basically scripting the outcome rather than letting the food decide.

All so called reality shows are somewhat scripted.

Haha, well I cook the wings, sliders, and ribs... The wife just has throw the cocktail weiners in a small pot, the shrimp in fry daddy, and the twice-baked potatoes, fries and cheese stick in the oven. It sounds like a lot of work, but it's really not. Most of them are just one or two step recipes.

Well, I am just a season 3 newcomer (I usually hate reality shows, but got hooked on this one), but saw all of season 2 epis in one day last week (bloody brutal) and I STRONGLY feel Howie got set up last night or that he himself participated in it.

Too many things just did not ring true - liek his putting out NO dish in the quick-fire challenge, and his willingness to take the hit for Brian. NO WAY!! Howie has been "bull dog" competitive, obnoxiously and relentlessly so.

I wanted to see him win. The idea of a shaven head fireplug lummox who looks like a WWE reject and talks like a longshoreman beating out those effete culinary types floated my boat.

Oh well - football season is starting so Howie had to go on back burner anyway. But he WAS freaking HYSTERICALLY funny, dropping those f-bombs in front of world renowned chefs, food critics and assorted raconteurs.

It was situation comedy funny.

I hear ya Hos... My dad was a alcoholic and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I decided at a VERY early age it was not for me.

I have the deepest admiration for men who cook - I just have a problem with them getting paid for it.

Then let me quote Charles E. Calhoun, a/k/a Jesse Stone, "Get out in that kitchen, and rattle them pots and pans"!
