I have two friends that ride all winter long too. One of them lives on glass factory road so they go right from his house!

Sometimes I miss the snow and the cold, but once february hits it is warm again here and the spring is fantastic in north texas.

Lol - my best friends brother lives on Glass Factory Road and my old girlfriend use to live there. Too funny.

I love it up here. At the risk of sounding like a 'flake', the changing of the seasons is pretty cool and I dig them all.

Where did you go to highschool?

Grill the burgers in garlic butter with onions. Use the suateed onions instead of just regular sliced variety. Use real hamburger instead of pre-pressed variety. Add some Worchestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the meat.

Don't buy generic hamburger buns. Use a kaiser roll with poppy seeds or a sourdough dinner roll or some other form of bread for the buns.

Monterrey Jack, pepperjack, real swiss cheese, or some other kind of spicy cheese. No pre-processed slices and no cheddar. Got to give it a new flavor.

Instead of plain mustard use a deli mustard. It's worth the price for the new flavor they will experience.

Romaine lettuce.

Clausen dill slices instead of a generic pickle slice.

Good tomatos. Be picky.

Lastly if your guests like it, a splash of guacamole.

Good eats.

You must have a 50 gallon tub of guacamole. You put it on everything. :D

I'll be on a business trip in Vegas. I should be in my room screaming at the TV.

I'm sure there are some sick sports betting venues in Vegas where opening day will be off the hook. If I recall, the sportsbook at Ceasars is amazing. TVs out the wazoo, tickers all over the walls showing up to the second stats, etc. You certainly have a lot of options other than sitting in your room.

Other than beer (which goes together with football like peanut butter and ladies), what do you all like to drink while watching???

Here's my burger recipe for ya, simple yet I've never gotten a complaint:)

1) 80/20 ground sirloin (get it from the butcher's case)
2) Throw into a mixing bowl and spice with Lawry's and garlic (better if it's sauteed or fried, but powder works too) and sauteed onions if you like
3a) If you are going for a spicy type burger, throw in a freshly cut pepper of choice (I usually like to go with some grilled jalapenos or habaneros [very little, chopped into a powder] if the mood strikes me right)
3b) If you are going for an island/pacific type of burger, some honey teriyaki works well
4) Form patties to cover bun (vary thickness and account for shrinking about 10%)
5) Grill each side WITHOUT pressing down with the spatula or flipping the burger more than once (this annoys me to no end for some reason).
6) Toast bun (fresher = better but the type depends on the burger) and if you don't care at all about fat, lightly butter the bun with garlic butter
7) Throw on the appropriate cheese and mushrooms if you want (pepper jack and sharp cheddar works for the spicy burgers, Colby jack for normal, and provolone for the island burgers are my suggestions) and close all the vents and let the cheese melt so still maintains it's relative shape but hasn't melted into the burger yet either. Pineapple under the provolone for the island burger.

You can see, it's kinda a flex thing where you can play with it depending on what your craving or personal likes are...

I usually do sliders, cocktail weiners in sweet-and-sour sauce, buffalo shrimp and wings, teriyaki wings (for the kids and pansies who can't take the heat), cheese sticks, twice-baked potatoes, cheese fries and if theres a party, I'll throw out a rack of ribs too (I cook in the oven at 200 deg for 5 hours, basting consistently with a red wine vingerette baste and than goes on the grill for about 10-15 minutes with the BBQ sauce of choice) and a veggie platter.

Haven't seen a game in this time zone, so I'll probably get up, fix breakfast for the kids and wife (I'll forego with the anticipation of a great football snack lunch). By the end of that (and cleaning up), it should be about 9 and the Skins pregame will be on and I'll tell everyone to shut up and go somewhere else, or sit and watch the game. The DVR will be recording and I'll be a freakin' mess and last minute checking my fantasy teams and checkin' the websites and chatting online with my bro about the game.

Watch the game and start the snacks at halftime. Chat with various other fans about the game (my bro and some skins fans that are there). Eat and (hopefully) celebrate a skins victory with a victory cigar at the end (cigar of choice being the CAO Cx2) on my back porch.

Put the remaining snacks in the fridge and play with the boys and other random family activities until I start the process all over again for the NY / Dallas game.

Geez, if "Howie" had cooked this up on Top Chef last night, he wouldn't have been eliminated
