What can change logically

A lot of people are saying nothing will change. Rinse, repeat, same old same old, etc., but I’m not so sure. Sometimes, “tweaks” make all the difference. I’m in the camp that wants a new OL Coach, fix the trenches, get another RB and tweak the playbook, but we haven’t done that—yet. But if we do nothing else, let’s look at it logically:
1)got a kicker
2)getting a new WR Coach.
3)player movement—Lawrence, Cooper and a few others are likely gone.
4)NFL Draft
5)Free agency
6)Likely scheme adjustments
7)Different schedule
8)Team health
9)Penalties
10)Weather and circumstance

Combine everything, and that’s a lot of change. Every year is a seperate entity.

I’d say it’s shaping up to be less successful season since we will be losing core talent , first place schedule and more likely to have a costly season ending injury .

Arguably everything lined up about as well as we could hope for in 2021. Not as likely to go as well in 2022.

We haven’t repeated winning division this era when returning with 1st place schedule . And have yet to even repeat making the playoffs after winning division.

That’s a lot going against us. But I’ll try and stay positive and feel we could possibly make it as a WC. If we stay healthy should be competitive. 9 or 10 wins.

We just have to turn and face the strange ch ch changes.....

It’s always tough to predict as the rosters churn so much every year. If we lose both our DE and a WR that’s tough to recoup. And could lose our most productive TE.

And can we rebuild our OL. And will Elliott be back. And will we be looking for another RB.

Way too many question marks to be expecting greater things next year. I’m more of a wait and see how we do in managing the Cap, FA and of course the draft.

Wouldn't surprise me if they punt on next year without saying so.

This should 100% be a two year plan of purging bad contracts and restocking through the draft....picking reasonably high next year.

Probably should add a quality FA or two going into 23 but that part won't happen (the kid needs the extra inheritance money that he doesn't feel a championship would offer a return on....what a businessman)...

But really.....they SHOULD still be able to compete in a weak NFC next season but won't.

How many times do we need to see the movie before we can all recite the next scene?

It's all set up for Payton to come in. May as well make it as good as we can for when he arrives.....instead of semi sorta going for it in 22 and pushing more dead money down the road.

No one is winning a thing with Ezekiel Elliott in their backfield....and salary dictates playing time as long as we have a puppet HC.

Maybe Payton is that also, but it's really all the hope I have left that he isnt and he comes here and overcomes the things that Jerry pulls which remove any edge and/or dawg the players may have in them.

Jerry Jones works against his coaches as far as motivation and has no clue at the same time.

Eh....maybe they all just love stealing his money and want to milk it for all its worth.

Certainly Garrett had him played.

I agree to an extent, I do think how they manage the cap, FA and draft will help determine a lot. I don't think many felt the defense would play as well as they did this year, no doubt we need to continue to work and improve on defense but what a difference a single season made from 2020 to 2021. Unlike some I think Moore is capable, this was this 3rd season as OC and in 2 of his 1st 3 season his offense ranked 1st. I think we can all agree most of the damaged the offense showed was to start the season but unlike some I think Moore can learn from the good and bad this past season and improve on it. I'm sorry I just do not buy into the line of thinking that a person, player or coach can't improve on things they have done in the past. The more experience in life I have had the better decisions I have made because most people learn from good and bad experiences.

If MM came out and used the media to take control...I would say yes. It will take this coaching staff and the players deciding its about them and they are going to put it all on the line for each other. They will say it in the media but I mean actually do it. MM would have to come out and force Jerry's hand in the media by saying "I will be leading the offense this season with KM helping" and actually do it. If he does this there is a chance the players get behind him and we have a "Major League" type thing going and good things can happen....Otherwise at the first sign of adversity this whole thing will fold as the owner continues to burry the HC.

And that could turn out to be the big story or overwhelming drama in 2022 as most will expect McCarthy to be on the hot seat.

Could a slow start bring about a HC change during the season or will Jethro wait and pull the plug if we miss playoffs or one and done again.

This is where all of the drama for 2022 season rest.

I don’t think Moore is the concern or the story for 2022. It’s all about McCarthy.

exactly and if MM cant see Jerry has already picked his scapegoat he is in real denial...he has one shot to win or go down like a man, thats tell the media he is taking control, Jerry could do nothing about it but watch.

I tend to think that about all HC, it is all about them. There staff failures are also the HC failures as well as their success. If defense struggles it is the HC job to oversee what is taking place and look to correct it, same with offense. As for Moore there are things I have seen out of this offense that I like and hope to see them build off of it but there are also things that Moore will need to improve on and stress to the players.

If we keep this O-Line coach we will have the same blocking scheme and lack of run game and penalties. MM said at the end of the season he is working on the penalty issue. Nothing like waiting for the end of season to work on that. And Moore will surely have some new plays. Hope he remembers we have pitch and off tackle plays. And Dak was good at the RPO plays.

I do agree that the injuries will be healed. That injury to Daks bad leg really scared him. I heard it takes 2 years for that nasty break he had to really be healed up. They need to work as a team this year to get going. Our Defense will hopefully improve. Gets us a big DT and LB at some point. Not sure who is going to be gone or stay.. Will find out soon but we need a consistent pass rush. Get some pressure and Diggs could have another double digit int season..

The concept of the "offseason of no change" is a lie. Nothing is immune to change. It's a force of nature that can not be resisted. Even the stone pyramids in Egypt that have survived for thousands of years are subject to change. So listen to me when I say, change is going to happen. Don't allow those that preach the "offseason of no change" to scare you with that narrative. The roster will be different, the coaching staff will be different.

Now listen more, change is not necessarily an improvement. The draft, FA, schedule, team health, penalties, weather, and conditions... these things you listed are not things that are given improvements. Isn't it more important to improve rather than just change for change's sake? Yes, if the Cowboys have a good draft, and do well in FA, they will most likely improve. Let's hope that happens.

Shorter passes. Spread the ball around. Run down there throats.

I think if you can use the short passing game and running game to help setup strikes down field you can put up the points. Early on Dallas was doing just that. I do think weakness at LG and Center became a focal point on how DC would attack. I also think Dak has to be a bit less hesitant to pull the ball and run at times. He had the fewest rushing attempts this year, his lowest yard rushing total and fewest rushing TD this past season.

Amazing Moore is receiving so much criticism after #1 ranked offense .
