Y’all got y’all’s ballhawking corner now you want Byron Jones type again?

Diggs is legit and a playmaker. Stop trying to get rid of him.

He shut down Justin Jefferson up in Minnesota this year.

I know he has his bad moments but so what.
for real. i don't know what people around here think at times. he's not only a tremendous corner, but if we give him some legitamite help, he'll be even better and ours secondary would be very formiddable.

I think the fanbase is pretty 50/50 on trading diggs. He’s not a top corner for anything else than jumping a route or being an above average cover guy.

He’s going to want to reset the corner market and likely won’t settle for less.

So- trade him. What do we get back for him?
if somebody gives us a first, do it.

This fan base is loaded with knuckleheads. He’s our top corner and Anthony Brown is coming off a serious injury. Trading him would leave a big hole in our secondary. He’s one of our best players and we can’t keep moving on from talented players and expect to compete. This is just another one of those threads where fans don’t want to pay a player. If it was up to the fans on this board we would have holes everywhere.

Kelvin Joseph who we burned a second round pick on has been a bust. Anthony Brown has been getting trashed by fans and is coming off a serious injury. Diggs is one of the better corners in the league and fans want move on from him. Glad some of the fans here don’t run the team.

I’m fairness Diggs had 8 INT’s in the 1st 6 games of 2021…the rest of his career is 9 INT’s in 39 games. Which is solid, but certainly doesn’t qualify for the “ball hawk” label Diggs has gotten. 2023 will determine if he was just in the right place at the right time for beginning of ‘21 or if he’s legit great at taking the ball away.

With his tendency to get beat on double moves and his abysmal tackling, I’m not sure how much value Diggs really has if he isn’t getting 5+ INT’s a year. Still a “good” starting CB for sure, but elite? I don’t think so. If someone was willing to overpay in a trade with a 1st + I would seriously consider it.

With all that said, I’d say there’s about a .5% chance the Jones’ will trade Diggs. A big extension is more likely with their track record

Go look around the league lately and see how many teams have traded away one of the best players and it paid off. It’s only paid off for the team that traded for the player. Draft picks don’t guarantee you anything. It’s a roll of the dice.

I’ve seen posts where fans were asking what do you think we could get for Parsons in a trade? Lol Some of you don’t want to pay anyone. The Cowboys wouldn’t have any talent if it was up to some of the fans on this board. I’m convinced some on this board just live for the draft.

It doesn't matter what we think or what a smart GM would do. We don't have a smart GM. We have Jerry and his boy. They don't make trades.

He is not an all time great corner but he is very good. No earthly reason to get rid of him. And if the Cowboys did trade him the guy they replaced him with would likely be no better and probably much worse. Forget that idea.....

Valid point, but reality is the Cowboys are going to struggle to keep everyone. Over the next two years it becomes very possible that Lamb, Diggs, Parsons, Dak all end up with top contracts at their position. Then you have additional questions about Pollard, Schultz who may both end up with contracts making top 5 money at the position plus free agents like LVE and Wilson this year.

I'm not saying you move Diggs, but I am saying you look at ways to improve the team and cant be afraid of moving a star player under the right circumstance. If a team offers up a 1st and a 3rd does that make the Cowboys better or worse? Maybe, but probably not. What if moving Diggs clears up future cap money to sign a Daron Payne in free agency in addition to those draft picks? Now we may have something....of course we are dependent upon this front office to capitalize on a move like this which people dont have a lot of confidence in.
I agree, but as bad as we've needed a CB that's not a peace they should be willing to do away with. I'd rather keep 7 of 20 seeing how RB is easier to replace than CB

We will pay Diggs 22+ million/y
Let’s say you get a 1 in a trade and take Porter Jr with that
Pay Payne/Hargrave 18-20 million/y
Resign Hankins

You think Diggs is better than Porter Jr+ Payne+Hankins?

I don’t

It depends on where the 1st is. I’ve got to have more if it’s a late 1st. Like a Day 2 pick. Just a lone late 1st means you’re having to use it on a player you HOPE is on par with Diggs for the sole benefit of saving money. Or you use the received pick on another position of need and sign a CB equal or better than than Diggs. But that’ll cost as much, if not more. Not to mention the Cowboys won’t do that.

no day 2 picks. even a late first would do. draft a CB (not Joseph), instead of paying a ransom to Diggs who will demand one. everyone complains about Dak, but we have way more bad contracts than him and giving a large contract to Diggs would be another mistake.

Like I said in the Draft Zone... I say package him and number 26 and see if there are any move up trade partners.
Then the evaluation of McClay's scouts on the big 3 of Stroud, Levis and Young.
IF any or all three evaluate as potential elite, I say try to work the trade up deal.

I do not like standing pat with QB purgatory, aka Dak Prescott, for 2 or more years. Regardless of cap hit or trade clause.

No risk.
No reward.

There's a sucker born every season and I see no reason why JJ couldn't come away with a pretty good haul for Diggs. Diggs has some pretty bad habits that Quinn can't seem to get a handle on, so maybe it's time to trade the young squire before we get suck with "FETUS" style miss tackling machine that doesn't work to well in today's NFL.

Trade one of your most promising young defenders? He's only been around for 3 seasons, why wouldn't the experience make him better each season?

Best case scenario, you trade Diggs for draft picks hoping you are lucky to get someone with the potential to play at an All Pro level almost immediately.

Someone, for example, like.............Diggs!
