What Did We Learn About the Eagles?

Since I can't keep up with how NFL teams structure contracts, are you saying that Dallas is 65 million dollars in debt vs the Eagles being 400 million dollars in debt that neither team can recoup?

Did come across this article, although from 2023

From what I've seen and heard of Roseman and what he's done with the Eagles, I don't think he would be stupid enough to hang themselves 5-8 years down the road and cripple the team with money and contracts, but I could be wrong...
I think he might take a few years to shed multiple contracts and just take the hit. They have so much talent they could still fight for a playoff spot. Or he could pick a year and go nuclear on multiple contracts and just punt a year. If they pull off another SB the fan base would probably go along with it. Hell, if they sat through The Process with Embiid, they would probably suck up a bad Eagles year because Roseman has proven that he knows how to rebuild.

This explains it well

Howie has said many times he thinks not only about this season but 2-3 years ahead. The Birds are definitely gonna lose Sweat and Milton Williams. Baun will be a priority and I expect him to be resigned before free agency starts. Becton maybe, but not counting on it. Frankly both Josh Sweat and Milton Williams benefited huge from Jalen Carter and they will get paid more than what the Eagles can offer. I suspect neither will live up to their contracts. Milton had .5 sacks in 2023 but the secondary was putrid. The cap will come calling once the young ones on D come up for new contracts in a couple years. They need to draft well which they have lately out of luck or skill. Fortunately this year the draft is supposedly stacked with D lineman.

As for 5-8 years down the road I couldn't care less.
