If you are asking what I would have expected knowing what injuries would happen before the season, probably 6 wins. But after watching Dak in the preseason, I was pretty optimistic thinking anywhere from 9-11 wins. Obviously didn't expect this kind of season though, it's been the biggest surprise of a sports season that I have ever had as a fan.

A mediocre year, but the word got out Dak was hot in preseason and should start. I didn't expect the team to do to well even with Romo able to play given his past injuries and the possibility he may hold back or have to hold back on the runs etc. But what a surprise Dak turned out to be. But Dak set records at HS and College and was available in the 4th round so he was a diamond in the rough.

What would have happened if Romo didn't get injured but also didn't play good because he held back on runs etc? Would Dak have sat the bench while the team had another bad season ?

Stats aside, I have never been a big Romo fan after seeing Aikman and Staubauch play. I may add he was no Joe Namath, Montanna, Bradshaw, Manning of which were SB quality quarterbacks.

I expected to take a lot of moral victories out of a lot of losses. This was to be the year to see what we had in the rookies and watch them grow. Well we have seen what we have in the rookies and it far surpassed anyone's expectations. Great job by the coaching staff.

4-12. Expected a crap year with false speculation of Garrett's job in jeopardy. I'm floored by the success and I was dead wrong on Zeke, Garrett and Dez in terms of what capabilities they have shown this season. Zeke in overall impact, Garrett in this teams performance in the 4th quarter and Dez in his maturity. So glad I've been wrong.

I don't think I knew what to expect. It just started out like another snake bite camp
but then Dak kept playing prefect I got excited but never thought he'd
be Achilles the great. Been a believer and have been since the Giants game.

For Zeke to have a big impact and everything else to stink, really. I had virtually no expectations once Romo went down.

What's strange, it's that exactly how I felt before the 2014 season. I remember thinking we had the worst defense we ever had

Hard question to answer now, easy for people to say they knew it, when really noone had any idea what would happen. I figured we would win a few games with Dak, then Romo would be back kinda like last year.....and we would have to wait and see if he could stay healthy.

In other words, a repeat of last year except a few more wins with thinking Romo might be able to stay healthy once he came back. Mediocre enough to get a middle of the round pick and be mediocre once again.

When Romo went down, I don't think anyone in their wildest dreams thought we would be talking Super Bowl. Life is full of surprises, and this one is probably one of the greatest surprises in our history. With other teams, we had warning they were getting better, this one was totally out the blue.

When Romo went down and the word got out that it was a pretty serious injury in the 10-12 week range, I expected a repeat of last year.

Obviously nobody on the planet thought we would be in the conversation for SuperBowl this year.

The feeling I had after NYG this year and SF in 2014 were identical.

Funny, I felt very optimistic after beating NYG in week 1 last season.

The one constant of Jason Garrett teams is that they play hard, so #1 I expected that. #2, I expected the best OL in the league to be the best OL in the league, but better, one more year together and going into the season healthy. I watch mostly ACC sports, but I've been a long-time admirer of Zeke Elliot. He was my absolute, hands-down first choice for #4 in the draft. A lot of people said he wasn't as fast this guy or as powerful as that guy or whatever, but he looked like a difference maker to me so #3, I expected fireworks in the running game. Lastly, seeing Prescott in training camp, he looked different to me than Steven McGee, et al. He just looked the part, so when he officially became the starter and promptly lit up preseason, #4, I didn't know what to expect, but I couldn't see the defense being worse than 2014, parity pervades in the NFL, you never know what's going to happen and I wasn't about to count Dak out.

I expected to see what we had in Dak. I was ready to start finding the heir to Romo. somcone who could learn behind him.

When Romo went down I was upset like we all were but than a calmness came over me and I said ...well it's just fate for Dak.

I didn't expect Romo not to get his job back this season. what the? floored.

When Romo went down, 6-10 at best.

LOL

Got that one wrong. As well as Zeke. As well as Garrett. As well as... etc etc etc

What a magical season. Dak came way the hell out of left field (for me).

Edit -- @88sAndHeartbreak, you have a great username :) A play on our 88 (Irvin, going by your avatar) and one of the best hip hop albums ever.

Prescott was so good in the preseason and Romo being able to return kept me pretty optimistic for the year.

I had us 9-7 at worst and 11-5 at best.

I remember the way I looked at the schedule I had us 1 or 2 games above .500 when Romo got back.
