What do we do with Dak going forward?

7-8 is the reality. He just got his coach fired for certain and most likely cost his team the opportunity to play in the playoffs.

So he "never brings the team back" except for doing it more than anyone his first three years in the league.

And now "never" means "well, not yesterday because I'm still really sore".

Got it.

Franchise him and see how he does under a real HC. Don't talk about a contract until end of next season.

Im sorry but he hasn't done it all year this year and outside of a few philly games and the giants game in week 17 of last year he hasn't really done it since he has been here. He has the overtime drive against philly in 16 and the final drive against the giants in week 17 of 2018 and the game vs detroit in 2018 other than that I can't think of a time where he had the ball in his hands to go and win and he actually did it.

Maybe I am forgetting I guess. I can remember a lot of times where he has had the ball in his hand to go win and has failed over the past two seasons however.

There is just no way you can pay this guy.

I don't care what his market value is.. I say let him go play in the market and if some team is dumb enough to pay him 35 million then let them.

Just because these other teams made stupid deals doesn't mean the Cowboys have to..

I like Dak... I think he's a good solid player.. But he just runs the offense and doesn't elevate anyone as a player.

Am I wrong or did we have 3 road games where we didn't score a Touchdown this year? Saints, Patriots, and Eagles yesterday..?
That's it, but not in a nutshell.
We already payed Zeke.
We already payed Lawrence.
So we payed for Good but not for Great twice.
Tank isn't great, he just kind of good.
Zeke is probably great, but what successful franchise pays that for RB.
So is this franchise really going to strike 3?
Its a big question, its a big payout, and a big cap hit.
Its what I have said from the on set that these 3 contracts will dictate the future of this franchise.
Just because you have the money/cap to spend, does not mean that you pay out big cap contracts to players that are just "GOOD" players..
You grab bargains with your cap over flow, and only pay top end contracts to "SPECIAL" players.
I have not and have never considered Tank a "Special" player.
Zeke is a "Special" player but the Ravens get by just fine with a RB named Mark Ingram, and his bank account is significantly less than Zekes.
Ravens got a "Special" QB in Lamar Jackson, that's who you unload the farm to.
Special players like that are who you pay and makes RBs like Ingram valuable, and WRs and TEs that would be much less valuable in other environments
less valuable.
We build, this team builds, this franchise builds completely backwards.
Jerry likes shiny toys, and the build process of this franchise directly is affected by the "process".

You are right but what will Jerrah do.

I agree with the group saying to franchise tag him then he see what he does with a new staff. The tag money us more than he deserves right now, so he shouldn't be too unhappy with that.

I agree except I would add in safety and I would say, if you’re taking a QB. Don’t take him in the 3rd. A 3rd round level QB. That’s Dak.

if we are going to take a swing at QB. Swing for the fences.

Admittedly, I don’t know what the QB’s from
College look like really this year. I have been too busy to watch college football. The only games I watch are Penn State games.
What about tight end and corner back. We have holes all over the Titanic.

Dak's problem is he always seems to throw his worst passes at the most important spots in the games. Like when he sailed that third down pass five feet over a wide open Cooper on the potential game tying drive. The look on Cooper's face said it all. It must be frustrating to work play in and play out to get open to only watch one of the single most important passes of the game sail five feet over your head. Prescott plays well between the 20's and if the team establishes a decent sized lead. He racks up on the empty stats, but when the onus is on him to produce in key situations, he starts sailing passes or throwing ground balls. A couple of the so called "drops" from yesterday were on very poorly placed passes that the receivers had to work just to get their hands on the ball. Even his completions are placed where the receiver has to try to reach up, behind him, or dive to catch the pass, which turns potential touch down passes into six or seven yards gains. Basically, he doesn't show up when he's needed the most, and YOU DON'T WIN SUPER BOWLS WITH QUARTERBACKS LIKE THAT. He is who he is.

As far what to do with him moving forward, I would let let him test the market. Consider this your chance to get loose from this guy and keep a degree of plausible deniability . If he signs elsewhere, you look at the best veteran free agent quarterbacks available. Some possibilities might be Derek Carr, Phillip Rivers, Teddy Bridgewater, maybe a few others, but the three i listed would have shredded the Eagles defense last night with the protections Prescott was provided. On top of that, you also draft a quarterback in the first two rounds, if possible, as your potential future quarterback. There are a few guys in the draft that could potentially fill that spot.

That's what I think they should do.

They might consider this:

Hire Lincoln Riley, franchise Prescott, and draft Jalen Hurts. I'm not sure that would work but I could certainly see that scenario playing out. Best quarterback wins....

Brilliant. Could be the next Kliff and Kyler, who have a high ceiling if they can get the defense in check. I say we just go ahead and get rid of Dak’s dead weight. He will ask for 30+ mil regardless even though he doesn’t deserve it. Hurts will be cheap for at least 4 years.

No, your memory is fine. The myth of Dak being a clutch performer is just that, a myth. That and a gross misunderstanding of the overrated game winning drive stat by brain dead Dak slobberers.

So "never" is now "what I remember over the last two years".

Name the times he failed, I'll wait.

We lost to New England because of a blocked punt. New Orleans was a 2 point loss on the road when Gallup was out and their DL was lights out.

Dak didn't injure all of our starting OTs, CBs and WRs against the Jets. Dak hit Amari Cooper in the hands against GB but didn't make it go through his hands for a pick. Dak didn't miss a billion tackles against the Bills and Bears.

We went into this game as the second highest rated offense in the NFL. The issue has been the ST, Defense and - like Tony Romo said - every little break going against them.

no, you go look up the times he failed. I am not in the mood.

Off the top of my head I can say this year At philly, at new orleans, at the jets, vs the vikings, vs gb. in 2017 he had a bunch of them and the three that come to mind right away are GB, the Rams and The critical loss to the seahawks.

There are more but like I said if you want to know them exactly go look them up.

At the very least draft a qb in the first two rounds and/or bring in a solid vet qb. We need options...

I have and I showed you they aren't there. Facts don't change based on your mood.

i just gave you a bunch of games where he had the ball and couldn't pull it off. That is not including the blowouts and the games where the offense didnt even get into the end zone.

Those are facts too.

i just gave you a bunch of games where he had the ball and couldn't pull it off.

That's nonsense, you mentioned one 2017 game where he got sacked 4 times.

"Never" is now "that one game I can remember". Four more posts and you will have Dak in the Hall of Fame.

That's comical. Wentz finally had a good game against the Cowboys in his fourth year, but there isn't a single GM in the NFL that would trade Dak for Wentz one for one.

And Philly paid 4 premium picks to get Wentz while Dallas got Prescott at the end of the 4th round.

most GMs would take Wentz, there’s article all over the internet confirming it.

Cowboys fans asked Dak to step up and save their season Sunday, and he said he wasn’t up to it. Eagles fans asked Wentz the same.. and he said ‘Watch this.’

1. Jason should have been fired last night BEFORE Jerry made it to his SUV, PERIOD!!!
2. Make Kris interim HC for the remainder of the year before making the big decision in the off season.
3. Bench Dak and give the job to Cooper for a few games. Let Dak simmer on that for a bit, and no I don't care about the remainder of the year because how could Cooper make it any worse. Players need to know they have to fight for their jobs. Daks accuracy is far worse than Romo's ever was. He may be a tremendously great leader, but the job is about throwing the ball accurately and making great decisions in the pocket. Heck the OC Kellen Moore would do a better job throwing the ball.

If your not going to run it much, then you MUST be passing it accurately. You can't substitute a great running game for crappy inaccurate passing. Fire the HC NOW... And bench Dak telling him he needs to work on his accuracy and until he starts hitting them on the numbers we are going to use Cooper for the remaining games of the season. I like Dak a LOT, but my patience has run out. Besides if the players really like Dak as their QB they will step up and play better if they see their QB benched. Get into their heads. That's what a great HC is supposed to do.

Yes, for the one time out of eight Wentz played better. Take a bow.

Please link the article saying GMs would take Wentz.

2016 when Dak was clearly playing better than Wentz:
https://247sports.com/nfl/philadelp...by-NFL-executives-over-Dak-Prescott-49059057/

Wentz has only gotten better and Dak has regressed.

partway through 2017:

just before this season:
https://www.___GET_REAL_URL___/s/ww...e-sando-carson-wentz-eagles-nick-foles-dak-qb

And since then, Dak has led his team to a losing record, Carson has improved his turnover rate, has beaten legit playoff teams while having XFL receivers, and has the division in hand.

we see the same article from NFL top brass every year, and we’ll see it again in 2020. They prefer Wentz.
