She assaulted a police officer in the line of duty and paid with her face. The race card can't be far behind.

Ding Ding Ding. We have a winner.

Life is really pretty easy. A cop tells you to do something, you do it. He tells you to shut up. You shut up. He tells you to go sit down, you go sit down. You argue with him, and act the damn fool, you get what you get. Its not rocket science here.

A cop shows weakness, other people might try to take advantage of the situation. He needs to quell the situation as quickly as he can. If that means a roundhouse kick to the head....well, you get a roundhouse kick to the head.

Yeah, baby!!!

The idiot chick had it coming. Serves her right. I'm sure chicks like that feel some sort of entitlement to assault police or do whatever they feel like doing.

I'm sure both will get a White House invitation to have a beer together and everything will be ok.

Mace, punched, tasered...............the cops can't win. Shall they ask the perp what form of self defense mechanism they prefer? She obviously stepped over the line in confronting him physically. What's he supposed to do? "Thank-you ma'am, may I have another"? I mean, if he doesn't do something the respect flies out the window and we have a bunch of people in blue uni's getting paid to drive around and holler "Stop.... Or I'll tell!"

It's a sad world we live in when an ugly, fat chick believes that she deserves entitlement.

A police officer can't be engaged with two people like that for very long without resorting to the use of force. Who knows what would have happened if what looked like a harmless arm wrestling match ended with one of the girls grabbing his firearm.

I have no problem with anyone who lays a hand on a cop in aggression under any circumstances getting a haymaker to the mouth.

The thing of it is, she wasn't even the one the cop was questioning.
She was interfering with what he was doing, fighting off the guy who was trying to pull her away and pushing the issue.

I can't imagine how over reactive the initial girl was getting over jay-walking. Yeah kind of trite but stop *****ing over the principle and don't make it get ugly.

id say i didnt see him try to use much soft empty hand force before he jumped right into hard empty hand force. and even at the hard empty hand stage im pretty sure a punch right in the face isnt supposed to be your first option. he let himself get out of control.

It's cause and effect. If she lays her hand on him and is openly yelling and fighting and pushing, THEN he punches her, whose fault is it? If she wouldn't have done what she did, the officer never would have punched her. To me it is like a pass interference penalty after an illegal shift, never even happened.

im just saying what i posted is what the police are trained and tested on. The second girl he made no attempt to grab, wrangle, subdue other then to punch her in the face. In my opinion he overreacted and should have tried other methods before he went to the hay maker.

Being a cop is such a tough job, which I do not envy. I don't know what else this guy was supposed to do. They weren't listening to him.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/us_and_canada/10336613.stm

The Seattle Police Department is investigating an incident in which a uniformed officer was filmed punching a 17-year-old woman in the face.

The incident began when officer Ian P. Walsh spotted a man jay-walking and as he was speaking to him, he saw four young women jaywalk across the same street at the same spot.

When the officer asked the women to step over to his patrol car, the officer alleges they became "verbally antagonistic".

The president of the police force has defended the officer's actions, and denied it was an act of police brutality or racism.

Don't they train cops to take down someone they are arresting hard and fast? What's with the 10 minute wrestle match? He had absolutely no control of the situation.

Also, even if a cop is wrong, you never resist and you should never interfere in someone elses arrest physically. That's just stupid, and it's a good way to get shot.

Carrying a badge doesn't make someone infallible. People have every right to question authority if they believe the authority is misusing it's power.

She went about it the wrong way in scuffling for sure. Scuffling with a cop will never make anything better.

That is what judges are for. Challenging a police officer while in the act of doing his duty is asking for trouble. When cops let their gaurd down they have ended up dead. Best thing to do is obey and if you have an issue with him or his action call the internal affairs office every police department has one.

That's the best advice in this thread. If you feel the cop is wrong, present the evidence when you go to court, or challenge the cop on the stand.

I don't think there's ever been an instance where someone was able to get the cop out of writing a citation. I don't know why these 2 kids thought they were going to be the exception.

IMO both are in the wrong. Don't get me wrong; she should have been taken down with force the way she was acting, but he should not have punched her in the face. He should have use strength and leverage to take her down and subdue her. (they are trained to do that) Either that or he should have maced her, then took her down with leverage.

The punching her in the face was unnecessary. (not that she didn't actually deserve it of course)

One thing about taking someone down is you can kind mash their face into the concrete. Or put your knee hard into their back. So that way you get even, and make it look like a textbook take-down in the process.
