What do you think of Hitchens?

Excellent instincts with very good closing speed to get to the ball carrier quickly and has the ability to not allow anything after contact which is the best unrated trait for a linebacker to have. He was by far our best 4 round pick since Canty.

He was an animal today. Who was the coach he ran to sidelines to hug after getting the turnover?

I had no idea who he was when we drafted him. I thought it was a wasted pick, especially given the recent history of our 4th round picks.

I must say, I have liked what I have seen of him. He seems to be a play maker. IMO, Hitchens seems to be the player Holloman was becoming until he got injured.

If only this defense had a healthy Lee, Holloman, and Durant to go along with McClain, Hitchens, and Carter.....our LBs would be disgustingly awesome.

Played out his mind today.

I guess that visit from Sean Lee did the trick.

It's hilarious that some people had the idea that Hitchens and Fred were reaches.
i was one of those people...on Hitchens not Fred. I don't know what to say other than i was wrong and he is much more than advertised.

He plays wide open (great motor) and he is in the right place most of the time. it's great to hit on one of these guys for a change.

What a find he was. I thought for sure he'd be a solid player when we drafted (I've tooted my own horn on that enough), but he's even exceeded my expectations. He just keeps getting better and better.

Can we all agree that the people that said he looked slow didn't know what they were talking about? Nothing slow about the guy. He's a rocket to the ball.

He stays healthy too, I think all of our LB's have missed some time this year.

hitchens is definitely balling out there.

damn sure outplaying d- law who cost us dearly..

d- law who i paid very much attention to today really played hard.....appreciate the effort..but uh...

he is not a de in the nfl.

he tried hard though.

you better be a simeon rice or jason taylor talent to be a lean de in the nfl...

trust me ...he is not.

Sean was on the sidelines too. Hitchens had played lights out. Our defense looked fantastic today against the nfl leading passer. Seemed to be Owed all to hitchens and rolando. They were all over.

He seems to have some of the same ability to knife through traffic that Sean Lee and Dat Nguyen had. I really think bringing in two more DE's in FA and the draft, plus adding Sean Lee back in will have a huge impact on the defense. It will make the secondary better as well because they will be able to play a lot more man than zone behind that front 7.

I think this is just as bad as those criticizing Hitchens just because he's a 4th round pick.

There is absolutely no reason to be saying D-Law is not an NFL DE just yet. There have been countless number of defensive players who had ghost rookie seasons and went on to be good/great players.

Hitchens has been a pleasant surprise. I doubted him and he silenced my doubts.

Well what do you think he was drafted for in the first place? To be a back-up who can play multiple LB positions in a pinch. He's playing because of injury. Someone wasn't paying attention.

Youre right.

The people who thought that he'd only be a back up absolutely weren't paying attention.

To the fact that Lee is made of glass.

Anyone whose paid 2 seconds of attention to Dallas during Lee's career knew that there was a 99.9% chance that the Hitchens pick was a guy they believed would be able to play as a starter.
