What do you think of Robinson?

Very good WR who came out of nowhere basically. Thanks to Norv for putting us on to him in the offseason. He reminds me of Crayton before his drop in the 2007 playoffs, to which after that play and his slow up on a easy TD pass at the end, he became dead to me. But he was very clutch before those plays.

I almost trust Robinson more to make a key 3rd down catch than Miles or Dez.

Really? Because Cruz has far superior stats right now. Obviously Nicks has missed some games, but to say Cruz can't touch him is ridiculous.

And Laurent Robinson has the stats of Dez Bryant.

Laurent Robinson can't touch Dez Bryant in terms of ability.

Cruz is the flavor of the month reaping the rewards of all the attention defenses put toward stopping Hakeem Nicks.

Better than Victor Cruz?

Better than Jason Avant?

Better than Austin Collie?

Those are the only notable number threes of whom I can think.

Jordy Nelson?

Wasn't Donald Driver demoted?

So many teams use three wide receivers on the vast majority of their snaps that it's difficult to tell who the second and third options are.

I'm not sure. I could be wrong there. If that's the case then Driver might be the best #3 presently IMO. All 4 of the Packer receivers are awesome, throw in TE Finley and that pass offense is down right scary.

Your takes are generally spot on. This isn't one of them. Cruz is a legit player. He showed it last year in preseason too.

The "benefits from Nicks" theory might be legit for a game here or there, but Cruz has performed all season long (peep the game logs).

There isn't a GM in this league that would take Cruz over Nicks.

Lol?

I didn't read through the entire thread. Is that what we're arguing here?

Yeah. The question is who is the Giants' #1 WR.

I like our top three WR right now. I like being able to move them around in formations. That said, there is a reason Laurent Robinson has been cut four times. I don't think long term he will be worth a big contract. He should be paid for what he is, a third WR who had a very good year.

Robinson and Romo just click. I say go get him. What more could we possibly need to see?

I am sure he will be here next season. I can't remember a time recently when Jerry was out bid for a guy already on the team that he really wanted to keep. So I think he is gonna see a nice fair contract, he plays like a #2 and should be paid as such.

ITs funny to see people bash him and say oh its all Romo. This guy knows what to do when a play breaks down and gets into a position that Romo sees him. He catches what is thrown and has 9 TD's same as Dez. That says a lot.

It says that he is a good #3 receiving option who is playing with an elite QB.

He is not a great player. He is an adequate #2 receiver but that is all.

We would be fine offensively without him.

It is a much more important consideration to shore up the interior OL. I actually even think MartyB is a more important signing in terms of giving us a great blocking TE that gives us more looks and makes us a force running the ball outside which is a great strength for us with Murray, Felix and Fiammetta.

Robinson > MartyB

considering the injury history of our current #1 and #2 WRs you might want to think about that.

I usually agree with Eskimo and disagree with you. But it looks as if the opposite is the case here.
