It's the Cowboys. The dumbest option is the most likely. I think McCarthy comes back.

I'm sure they'll make him an offer and he'll probably accept it. But, man, do I hope he tells them to stick it and leaves.

I can’t help but to wonder what might happen with the Chicago Bears vacancy.

I can see McCarthy being offered that job and viewing it as a better option.
totally agree. If MM believes Chicago has a franchise QB now, thats a good spot for him to be.

I think Mike will be back. The MO of the Jones boys is to wait until the last minute on everything they do. They love screwing with the fans and media.

I would! Can you imagine how good it would feel to leave all the Dallas Drama?
I would too!

The Joneses have meddled, bungled, and mismanaged this team into a terrible mess.

If I had another option, I’d take it.

And I’d let them reap what they’ve sewn.

I'm willing to accept whatever happens, while feeling that the current FO is mainly responsible for this team's many woes. McCarthy is far from perfect, although, I felt our FO was willing to put him to blame for their team's failures with their reluctant to re-sign him. They appear perfectly content to vainly extend professions that they're doing an excellent job, while the opposite is quite obvious. Their hopeless incompetence is nothing short of legendary. Fandom has become an exercise in futility for decades now, with this awful front office in charge. Yet, the public shows up for games, regardless!
It's been said by some that they do so to be seen as a "status symbol." ;)

Mike has had enough of the Jones and Prescott show.
Jones has had enough of Mike's unprepared, undisciplined, teams and horrible clock management.

I think MM stays. It is just the type of thing this FO will do. Afraid to make the needed changes.

Not sure why folks think MM is coming back. Jerry planned it since we lost to GB last year. It's plain to see. MM actually agreed too. That is just my 2 cents. People in that building know.

I keep hearing a lot of people saying injuries are going to save Mike McCarthy's job and as much as he did an admirable job with the backups to finish the season much like he did in 2020 all I remember is the Green Bay loss followed by a terrible first six or seven games to start the season relatively healthy he had his shot that was his shot and it was a blank and he should be let go just on that alone..

Two years in a row as an offensive coordinator he starts out the season try not to lose games very stale predictable vanilla if he keeps his job please let it only be as a head coach and the announcement comes with the attachment that we get a new offensive staff and they bring Mike Zimmer back if you're going to run this back he deserves a second chance more than Mike most of the injuries for most of the season were on that side of the ball...

If I have to see another year Mike McCarthy's offensive play calling I don't know what I'm gonna do....

I agree with this that's my sentiment as well that injuries should not have saved Mike McCarthy's job....

however most think it's going to hinge on how the phone calls or emails so far have went with speaking to guys that could be his replacements what if Jerry's getting the cold shoulder not having good Pre-interviews?

maybe he rolls back with Mike McCarthy as the head coach with the caveat that he has to get a new offensive staff... New offensive coordinator that gets to pick his whole staff I could probably live with that and Mike Zimmer coming back as the defensive coordinator I mean I don't want this but if I have to live with this it has to be Mike McCarthy no longer being the offensive coordinator..ughh
