we probably won't be voiding his '09 year now that a 11 mil contract then will look average
It's not a team option. It's voidable due to contract language. He met certain incentives in the contract which made the final year void.

I stand corrected

I'm sure Newman will get restructured

Newman has one voidable year (2009). He's ours through the 2008 season, at least.

Thanks a bunch Adam. That clears that up.

Yet he could hold out for a trade or new deal if he continues to play at a high level.

I think Newman needs to get alot more interceptions and give up less big plays than what he did this year.

Newman is not considered in top 5 of conerbacks in the NFL.

Not In Order

Champ Bailey
Ashante Samuel
Rashean Mathis
D'Angelo Hall
Nate Clements

Walt Harris and Charles Woodson are pissed that you left them off your little list.

Walt Harris had his best games against some pretty bad or young QBs.

INTs from - Jay Cutler, Seneca Wallace, Brad Johnson, Andrew Walter and Marques Tuiasosopo.

And it looks like only one of his FFs was recovered.

Dont get me wrong, I certainly think Harris is a decent CB, but definitely NOT top 5 in the NFL. Stats dont always tell the story. Only reason I used his INTs is because of the link you posted.

I didnt even bother to look at Woodson.

lol I think SP was joking.

I believe he was making fun of RealCowboyFan for getting his list based on interceptions or something.

BTW, my top corners:

1. Terence Newman

2. Me

3. The rest of the NFL

Newman is also older than Clements and Clements is getting his deal now when he is 27.

Newman won't be in line for a big payday until he is 30.

Huge difference.

Well, let's also not forget that Clements is like, better than Newman.

Actually, Clements is NOT better then Newman. the only clearly better CB right now is Bailey.

Exactly, what's to say we'll even want to resign him by that point- a lot can happen- just look at Kevin Smith.

The cap will be almost $30 million higher by the time Newman will get his new contract. There's no telling.

Yeah and I'm sure Flozell will eat up around $10M of that when the time comes... :laugh2: Doesn't matter how much everyone bashes him. He is still one of the better left tackles in the league and thats going to cost someone. Unless the McQuistan actually pans out. While possible, there is no way this guy is a sure thing.
