Leary is the weakest link in our OL. I'm surprised this is even a question.

Leary and weak link should not even be used in the same sentence. That is just plain silly. If anything, you might refer to Leary as 'not as strong/good' as Fredbeard, Smith, and Martin but Leary is far from 'weak.' Cut Leary and he would be a welcome addition on 31 other teams in the NFL. And any guard drafted even in the 1st round this year would be no sure bet to beat out Leary.

Had Leary been an unrestricted FA this year, he would have received even more money than Parnell got.

Thankfully, 31 other teams were too stupid to take him off our practice squad when he was there. Shame on us exposing him to the practice squad several years ago.

Leary's knee condition might not get any worse until he's 40....not a guarantee it will affect him as a player.

I suppose anything is possible but I don't really think that this will be the case. For guys who have no issues with their knees, and have finished up their careers, they experience issues with their knees, well before 40. It could be like you say but I don't think that this will be the case for Leary. It's degenerative so it will progress.

Jonathan Vilma had the same condition and it never failed in his 10 year career. He did have other knee issues but the ocd was not the problem.

It is not really degenerative. It more of an all or nothing condition. It is not any more likely to fail right now than it was 3 years ago.

myself and he did go in the 1st rd. I think on a low end contract he could be worth a look in camp.

What a disappointment, that guy. So many thought he was a for-sure thing going into the draft.
Even OL's bust in the 1st round... We've been extremely lucky the past few years.

How about CJ Mosley, the DT. 1-tech is one of the biggest areas where we need an upgrade, and while he isn't a top 10 DT by any stretch, he looked pretty good last year and would almost certainly be an upgrade over what we have now.
