What Free Agents do you covet?

I don't know about the money involved, but as far as bringing outside free agents in, I'd like to see us go after Marcus Trufant at CB and Bernard Berrian at WR. Other than resigning MBIII, there aren't really any UFAs out there that I think are worth the coin it will cost to get. I kind of liked Derrick Ward of the Giants, but he's a RFA and I'd rather not lose any draft picks to get him.

I'd love to get another veteran MLB in free agency, but I don't really see any that I like.

I also am not too interested in any of the FA QB's out there. If Grossman could be had for a reasonable price, I'd consider him an upgrade over Brad Johnson.

CB Randall Gay - has been coached by the Pats and will come pretty cheap

LB Karlos Dansby - young, very athletic, just hitting his prime, would make a great starting ILB next to James.

LT Max Starks - He doesn't want to go back to Pittsburgh, he is young, in his prime, and a very good all around OT.

Any other Patriots that might be Free Agents.

You didn't say if I thought we were getting them, you just said who was on my Radar.

I like Berrian and WR, if we were able to get him that would put WR off till next year draft wise. WR spots on this team are already going to be tight with Owens, Crayton, Hurd, Austin and Glenn returning possibly Glenn.

I have a feeling that if the Cowboys are to make a big move in Free Agency it will be at ILB. I wouldnt mind having ayodele/burnett/carpenter battling for the spot but with Carp on the market and maybe Ayodele on his way out, maybe..?

I would like to add a veteran CB and ditch #35. Springs or Gay was mentioned. Im comfortable with Newman and Henry 1 and 2. We add a #3 veteran and use our top pick on a Cason or Cromartie.

WR's D.J. Hackett, Berrian, Or Bryant Johnson

I think Hackett could come fairly cheap since he has been injured a lot but is explosive when he plays. I'd like to see us get him and Berrian and focus on other areas in the draft.

Ok, this is a dream scenario.....but I'll try to make it realistic. I believe the best FAs are our own.

ReSign:
Barber
Flo
Hamlin
Re-up:
Newman
TO

Sign:
Dante Stallworth (I believe he'll soon be cut)

Draft:
Jon Stewart
Malcom Kelly
Dominique Rogers-Cromartie
Owen Schmidtt

Yeah, it's likely Stewart and Kelly won't be around for either pick. But you never know.

What I would LIKE to happen, not that it necessarily will happen . . . .

We Re-Sign

Hamlin
Flo

In FA we target

WR Berrien would be the preference, but I wouldn't be disappointed in guys like Hackett or Gage either.

CB We get 1 veteran FA CB. Florence or Springs should suffice.

RB We get a guy like Fargas or Moore.

In the Draft, we take 1 more CB in the 1st round (Cromartie, Mckelvin (sp) should be there)

Also, Draft a WR with the other 1st rounder (Doucet)

We look to pick up 1 more RB in Rounds 2 or 3.

We also pick up an ILB and a versatile FB as well to pair with Cricket.

Later in Day 2 we take a flyer on one more OLB who we think can turn into a pass rushing stud down the line. Maybe a small school guy.

I think Dallas better think bigger than guys like Hackett, Gage or Johnson at WR. Very soon, with Dallas' current roster, they won't have a true #1 and no speed. Face it Witten doesn't stretch the field and Barber doesn't provide any explosiveness either. Dallas should sign a guy like Berrian or trade for Roy Williams. This team is a player or two away from a Superbowl and you have to provide Romo with weapons and protection. The window that they have right now will close very quickly if Jones isn't careful.

For those that want Berrian, I think I read somewhere that the Bears plan on franchising him.

I still wonder if/how the Cards will get things redone with Fitzgerald. They can't have one player taking up 16+ million of cap space. Now the question is Fitz willing to rework the contract with them or will he try and play hard ball and make them release him.

Berrian would be preferable to Hackett or Gage, but I think Berrian is going to cost a LOT of money.

If we can't/don't want to pay Berrian, a guy like Hackett, Gage, or A Davis along with a high draft pick (Doucet, for example) should provide Romo with enough weapons.

We'll get another RB with speed to share the load with MBIII in the Draft.

Heck, if the Giants can make the Super Bowl with Burress, Toomer, and S Smith and Boss playing TE . . . . if we get one more capable WR plus a high draft pick to throw in as well, we should be fine there.

According to you we wont have Barber since in you're post above you chose not to resign him or Canty. Just Hamlin and Flozell "False Start" Adams.

Lance Briggs - Move him to 3-4 ILB. Would greatly improve our pass coverage and would improve the run defense as well.

Drayton Florence - Should be affordable. Knows Wade's system. Re-sign Reeves and make Florence the #3 CB. Can still draft a CB if we want to.

That would pretty much satisfy me provided we re-sign Flozell and keep Barber. We could address the other issues in the draft.

Dan Orlovsky is going to push Romo? JT O'Sullivan is ahead of him on the depth chart in Detroit.

Tim Carter? Receivers that have yet to break 350 yards receiving in a season aren't usually too high on my list of priorities.

Where would Dan Klecko play in this defense?

Weird list, Nors.

You want Orlovski to come in and push Romo. You gotta be kidding. There's no QB in the NFL who can push Romo not named Brady. Romo had a monster season in 07 & would no doubt have been the MVP except for Brady. I'll bet if you were around when Landry named Stauback as our starter & after the Cowboys went 1-15 with Aikman in 89 you would have lead the charge to cut both of them or bring in somebody else to "push" them.

Now I'm not saying Romo belongs in Stauback/Aikman league yet cause he hasn't won a SB but Romo has also only been our starting QB for 1 1/2 years. Now I agree his play didn't stand out in the last 3 season games and the playoff game like we saw during the rest of the season but let's get real here. Romo is our franchise QB and will win big for us -- unless Jerry Jones screws up the 08 draft/FA. Just give Romo time to mature (in his personal life as well) into the great NFL QB his talent will allow him to be.
