just saying that really, you won't be saving anything because it's going to take alot to procure Dansby

I'll take a shot, in no particular order:

1.Bryant Johnson--Big, strong and not afraid to go into the middle. Also would be more than happy to become the number two opposite T.O. Added bonus the guy will only turn 27 this spring.

2.Mewelde Moore--Depth purposes, and third down potential.

3.Gibril Wilson--I think he could take Roy's spot in a heart beat.

Truth be told, Karlos Dansby would be my first choice, but I doubt we could afford his price.

I doubt we sign any FA, other than a few cheap vets.

We don't have the cap room to sign any of the big $ guys, and I think they'll be stingy with what they have to leave some to re-sign Newman this season.

Injury prone and inconsistent.

When he wants to dominate, he can. Problem is, he doesn't do that every game. Of course thats when he isn't injured.

The only FA I truly covet is Nnamdi Asomugha. I mean SERIOUSLY covet him. If he became available, we'd be freaking idiots not to throw piles of money at him and just resign ourselves to probably letting Newman walk when his contract is up.

That's about it for serious covetousness. I'd like some badass old LBs to whip these ladies into shape.

I also like RB Felix Jones, OL Michael Oher, LB Shawn Crable, FB Owen Schmidt and Peyton Hillis, WR Adarius Bowman, and WR DeSean Jackson.

You are here by ban from giving any draft advise. Bowman and Jackson are ****. Don't ever speak of them again.

Thanks.

Dante Stallworth (I believe he'll soon be cut)

Stallworth sucks. The man has only played 16 games three times in six years. He has NEVER had a 1,000+ season, and he is inconsistent.

2007: about 10% of his total yards came on one play.
2006: 11.5% of his total yards came on one play.
2005: Only decent year in the pros with 945 total yards
2004: Second best year of his career with 767 yards.
2003: Almost 16% of his total yards came on one play.
2002: Almost 10% of his total yards came on one play.

The point is, he can make big plays because of his speed. The problem is, it doesn't happen all that often because he sucks.

Just say No to Dante Stallworth.

We need to resign Barber, Canty, Hamlin and Adams. We need to also resign Berger and Davis and Ladouceur for the right contracts.

FREE AGENCY
CB - Drayton Florence or Asomugha (he will probably be franchised) - Florence makes the most sense but see him as the 3rd corner

WR - Javon Walker (once released) - still a very good WR but he will be 30 this year but then again Glenn is done and a rookie WR takes usually a year to develop
*WR - Bryant Johnson (if we can't get Walker) - actually like him better than Walker but cost actually could be more but he would be a good #2
*WR - Roy Williams (if we can get him on a reasonable trade, then him over the other two) - probably wishful thinking but only 26 years old and could really flouish under Garrett and Sherman
OT - Max Starks (if Flo doesn't resign, might settle for an incentive contract) - him or Jordan Gross if Flozell decides to go elsewhere, remember Flo is going to probably demand 7 million a year for 5 years and he is 33.
LB - Boss Bailey (can play ILB will be less expensive than most) - needs to re-invent his career, has the talent but been injury prone, could be a bargin
DT - Shawn Rodgers - Detroit will release him before March 3rd and he could come cheap, his problem is stamina not his play, might be cheap and a good rotation with Tank Johnson and move Ratliff to DE since it appears Spears days are numbered

DRAFT
*We will make a few trades of existing players, just believe it will be inevitable and hopefully is will net us another 2nd, just see several of our players moving on this year in trades especially Carpenter and Spears.
1st - CB - Leodis McKelvin or Antoine Cason or Aqib Talib (#22) - McKevin is my 1st choice but the draft is difficult to predict right now
1st - RB - Felix Jones (#28) - everyone knows that Jerry prefers McFadden but Jones is going to be a solid pro and great change of pace to Barber
2nd - WR - James Hardy or Jordy Nelson or A. Bowman - WR usually falls like RB on draft day and there are plenty this year, Hardy his great size, Nelson just catches everything and gets good separation (plays faster than his 40 time and reminds people of Welker but bigger), and Bowman has great size and hands and looked better in the Senior Bowl
2nd - RB - Chris Johnson (could be crazy but if we really take the BPA) or Phillip Wheeler ILB - if we do get an extra 2nd, I wouldn't mind taking Johnson if available at #61. In today NFL, having Barber, Jones and Johnson might be a plus but a good one plus he has shown good ability on kickoffs.
3rd - Tony Hills OT - again motivation the key with him but Houck has dealt with this type before and got good results
4th - Owen Schmitt FB - Schmitt is just a very good football player, being a FB is going to drop him in the draft but the kid can play and is all football. This is the Moose but maybe faster.
5th - D.J. Hall WR - Hall is destined to drop based on projections and in the 5th would be a steal. Good punt returner, excellent speed, poor route runner, can make the big play, definitely worth the shot and better than Hurd and Austin.
6th - Dennis Dixon QB - Great athlete, good size and speed, really good runner from the QB position, will need a couple of years to become a good QB but great upside, think Romo coming out of college but younger
7th - Tommy Blake DE - off field issues have surrounded him but there is no question that he can play, some question about "mental health" but could make a significant impact as a 3-4 OLB, he is going to fall and if available in the 7th, I say take the risk

Possible UDFAs:
Kendall Langford - DE
Ropati Pitoitua - DT/DE
Carlton Medder - OT
Will Arnold - OG
Ezra Butler - ILB
Darren Toney - CB
Wilrey Fontenot - CB
Jamario Thomas - RB
Danny Amendola - WR (Wes Welker clone)
Kirk Barton - OT

Bailey is simply too soft to play in the 3-4, we would be far better off trying Carp/Burnett instead. Rodgers is a lazy, undisciplined player and the last guy I would want in Dallas....we don't have anyone to keep him in line.
I do like your other choices minus Walker, who is a chronic whiner who couldn't play opposite someone like T.O.

Re-sign:
Flo
Barber
Hamlin
Canty
the deep snapper

Free Agency
Go after a starting CB but only if the price is right.
Samuel>Raiders guys with bad name>Springs>Florence

Draft:
1a CB(value is here regardless of need imho) Talib, Cromartie, McKelvin.
1b WR(need but probably not best value so moving around a bit may be order of business) DeSean Jackson(probably gone), Mario Manningham(may well be gone), Early Doucet... all these are speed guys which we could expand if we add a speed WR in free agency.

2. RB (should be great value here) Steve Slaton jumps out as returner, nickel back but lots of choices. Speed back would be nice to balance with Barber's well Barbarism.

3. At this point it becomes all raw value picks. Do not rule out a QB here. We need some ability and potential there. John David Booty would be worth working with. He is good on the move if not overly athletic. Andre Woodson may also be here and could excel under expert tutelage but he is raw as rain.

4. Pig Brown of Missou. Reminds me of Bob Sanders with massive play-making. Is a hybrid guy because he can play run or pass. Big hitter with good play reading abilities. Coming off of injury. Stood out to me last year in almost every Missou game.

5. Peyton Hillis, FB Arkansas. Good one back or h-back type. Great hands and good initial burst and vision. Jerry needs at least one razorback out of this draft.

6. Jordan Dizon, MLB, Colorado. Special teams ace with great instincts.

7. Ben Hochstein, T, Nebraska-Omaha. Developmental OL with good upside.

OK, a list of potential free agents that would come in and make an upgrade of projected players on this next year's team:

OG Alan Faneca Pit

LB's Lance Briggs, and Karlos Dansby

FS Tank Williams-only if Ken Hamlin is NOT resigned

RB's Michael Turner, Julius Jones, Justin Fargas, and Jamal Lewis

DT's Albert Haynesworth, and Shawn Rogers

CB's Asante Samuel, Marcus Trufant, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Drayton Florence

WR's Bernard Berrian, Donte Stallworth, and Javon Walker

I'll save comment for the draft, after I see what Dallas does with it's own projected free agents....

Expect him to be franchised if he doesn't resign for long term. If he did hit the market, you're looking at a Nate Clements type deal which turns out the 49ers paid more than he ended up being worth. A shutdown CB has a lot of value, I just don't think they have TOP value the way say QBs and pass rush specialist have.

Give me two bigtime pass rushers on each end (like Ware and Jason Taylor), an inside rush specialist (Ratliff or Haynesworth playing DE) and split the $80M into two CBs.

Last year our issue was Williams, Reeves, and fear of playing bump and run by the coaching staff. The rush was there, but they gave enough cushion to attack before the rush could get to the QB.

I'm not as down on Reeves as some. Reeves made some mistakes, but was learning quickly from playing. The staff didn't have enough trust in him to play him tight. He is one of the fastest players on the team, give him a chance to make a play that prevents a catch from being made rather than make a play after the catch is made. I saw him make several big plays this year. He didn't get credit for the plays he did make. I think he needs to get stronger in his core and above to be more effective with larger receivers.

How about a future 3rd down front five pass rush of:
Ware - Ratliff - Haynesworth - Tank - Spencer

Nasty

I do agree to some extent that Reeves isn't nearly as bad as some suggest, but he is no second corner and right now I think that is a need for this team given Henry's problems staying healthy.
The obvious solution is the draft and anyone of Cason, Talib or Cromartie (my fave nowe) will do the trick. Let them develop during the season as a third nickel in the same way Ross did for the G-men.

If I could just have any FA's that I want and could get them without killing my cap then I'd like to see them bring in...

CB- Either Samuel or Trufant

Resign- Hamlin, Flo, Canty, and Barber
