What happened before halftime with the clock?

That was their attempt at an explanation. Weak one at that. Has there ever been that same situation where the clock doesn’t stop because his progress had stopped? The refs blow the whistle to kill the play in that situation and they didn’t end the play. Too many “mistakes” by the refs to be explained away.
That was was weird it felt like a flag every play

If forward progress is stopped the clock keeps going. When these guys go out of bounds they have to be pushing forward or the clock will continue.

His progress was stopped. He went dead sideways.
so why no timeout with 2 left?

Yeah, MM mismanaged the entire series. It was pretty terrible. I can't believe we won based on his coaching. That game was all about players > coaches.
My wife was yelling at me to keep it down the kids was in bed lol. I was so heated at the end of the 1st half

McCarthy said he was worried about all the penalties, etc and just wanted to ensure they got the 3 points.

I don't like the decision but in some ways I get it.

His winning percentage is higher than most of the league.

He had a generational qb too. I dont know how anyone could watch that game and believe he did a good job. Daks improvising is the only reason our offense did anything. Both scheme and in game management were terrible.

Dak is a generational qb? 13 wins last year and 12 the year before.

NFLN said the clock operator assumed a TO. But none was called. But they stopped the clock anyway.
A video showed MM telling the ref to ... wind the clock ...

MM took the sure points because he knew it was turning into a defensive game. As what was going to really happen as LAC was not going to get the chance to score, and they were getting the ball to start the 2nd half.

It was the right thing to do, especially passing on the FG earlier.
I assume we still took the timeout, just with barely enough time to kick it instead of eight seconds left. I'm sure McCarthy had decided to take the field goal, but didn't want to leave any time left for a possible kick return.

I have no problem with the decision.

Actually when Lamb went out of bounds with 42 seconds left. Maybe they thought the clock would stop. They did run back to hurry up a play though. I thought they should have called a TO there. They used that 2nd time out a little later. Closer to the end zone.
So probably did not matter.

With 8 seconds theres just too much that can go wrong for very little chance of scoring a td. It has to be a one drop throw with the defense sitting back. You also have penalties and sacks that play a factor. Take the three
Nah. This wasnt an end of game scenario where you can freelance because its the last play. This is literally a one read and then you let it fly out the back of the endzone. About a 5% chance of scoring.. is that worth a turnover, flag, or sack? Its more than "trusting the QB".
This explains it perfectly...of course it doesn't fit the narrative of "Dak sucks and nobody trusts him including the coaches" crowd.

Sorry, I was talking about Rodgers. Dak is a good qb, but no.

MM has his strengths, but it appears he needs a strong offensive coordinator. I hope I'm wrong, and this offense comes together.

Hard to do much better than 4 and 2. Especially, if they keep winning and the football gods have the Eagles fall apart.

Again, I believe we won that game in spite of coaching. Just look at the plays Dak made and see how many were based on him improvising vs the scheme opening thing up. Credit to the QB.

I want to know how we got from 44 seconds after the gallup catch to 21 seconds. Wasn't he out of bounds? And if not we had 2 timeouts why didn't we use one? I would rather have a 13 year old madden player than mccarthy with time management.
Gallup forward momentum was stopped and pushed back. In that case, you get the forwarded progress but not the out of bounds. It’s a basic rule that was called correctly.
