What happened to Osa?

He was a guy that could give you a few negative stops on the DL, but now I guess the poor play is contagious, and he's not doing what he used to do. It's been said that he's a player that starts well but doesn't finish well. Seems to be the motto of this team. He's up for a new deal, if you asked me about him last year, i'd say he might be too expensive for us to retain. At this point, I can see a situation where he's brought back if we choose to, on a small deal. Hoping things turn around for him, he's liked a lot around here. Please give your thoughts....
well, if he is the best DL man right now the offense focuses on him and he can be taken out of the games.

He’s on the Maliek Collins and Neville Gallimore trajectory
So you’re saying there will be a bidding war between Home Depot and Lowe’s ?

But he does need to get his forklift license though, or they’ll have him watering the foliage.

Cowboys will miss out somehow in FA, then during the season or before the start, they will spend a grand total of 6.3 million dollars and will have picked up 9 DL guys who will be on the practice squad!
I'm starting to think this was intentionally done as part 2025 plan to switch to 3-4.

* Parsons will get his new deal 2025
* many have said he is better suited for 3-4
* can use 2025 draft and free agency to add the right players
* Kneeland fits 3-4 DE to a T

2025 3-4 LBers ....Parsons, Overshown, Sam Williams, Liufau??? ( scary )

Osa is an undersized DT. His main strength is getting penetration. Cowboys are playing from behind this year. Teams are running the ball against them. He’s getting bullied in the run game and not as many opportunities to make splash plays.

Wow, I had not realized how desperately thin this team will be next year before the draft and FA. We all know the Cowboys only dumpster dive in FA, so this puts enormous pressure on the draft.

This last off-season looks more and more like a kamikaze mission that will have long term ramifications. An off-season that bad is like saying “pass” when it’s your move in a chess game. Unbelievably stupid.
They FINALLY have cap space to spend next season. Probably the first time in 30 years

One draft can't fix all the holes this has.........THIS is why I favor Belichick. If you are not going to have enough players, you need a damn good coach who knows how to hide jags. Kinda what Quinn did his first couple of years........then as expected it caught up with him ( GB game exposed him)
Correct. Problem is, w/ that philosophy you are not going to win playoff games. Jerry once again has built a regular season team.

Zimmer’s scheme is obviously a misfit for Quinn’s talent. The whole unit has taken a step back— even before the injury bug hit.

IMO— Jerry punted on this season when he dialed up the “we are hanging around the rim” narrative and decided to run it back with MM.

That led to the Zimmer hire and the status quo being upheld. What we are seeing on the field is a direct result of JJ either directly empowering it, or refusing to deal with it.

His passivity is 100% to blame for caving to Dak, refusing to use FA, avoiding holding anyone (especially himself) accountable, and propping up a lame duck coaching staff.

This current roster and HC may have just reached the point their tank is empty and after several failed attempts, they don’t have the will to summon the energy required to compete. Their body language, attitude, motivation, and execution all reflect one simple truth: they don’t believe in themselves or care enough to snap themselves out of their funk
The status quo off-season set us back years.

Absolutely. 2024 is a wash due to lame duck coaches and inactivity in FA.

2025 is a wash as a new HC has to come in and establish a new staff, scheme, and try and get personnel to fit

2026-2027 are likely washes as Dak’s contract and poor production likely create diminishing returns and key players age out and need to be replaced

2028-2030 will likely be focused on finding Dak’s replacement and developing him

Had JJ fired MM and refused to pay Dak we are likely looking at a 2-3 rebuild vs 6-7 year delayed rebuild.

What a time to be a fan lol… our GM digging his heels in on not paying Henry pennies only to historically and tragically over pay Dak. It would be hilarious if it weren’t so tragic.

Watching someone drag the franchise you love through the sewer and make billions doing it is just an excruciatingly brutal piece of suffering lol

They learned nothing from dragging their feet with Garrett.

why can't we do that to a defenses best player when we're on offense
because the other teams have several good players and one great player.

team may have to double and triple Jones....which allows everybody else to open up.

all they have to do is chip Osa and we are done
