What happened to Osa is you overrated him and the more he plays the more obvious it is.

It's the same thing that "happened" to Terence Steele, though Osa is a better player than Steele.

He's a rotational backup and I wouldn't even consider re-signing him.

Guy is just a rotational player. More on passing downs. Undersize player is just getting wore down.

His stats are good though.

He was a guy that could give you a few negative stops on the DL, but now I guess the poor play is contagious, and he's not doing what he used to do. It's been said that he's a player that starts well but doesn't finish well. Seems to be the motto of this team. He's up for a new deal, if you asked me about him last year, i'd say he might be too expensive for us to retain. At this point, I can see a situation where he's brought back if we choose to, on a small deal. Hoping things turn around for him, he's liked a lot around here. Please give your thoughts....
Osa Dlaw Joseph Lewis Kendricks Clarke Wilson Martin Cooks will all be gone after this year

what stats? the most sacks he has had in a season is three... he doesnt get a lot solo tackles.. what stat should we be looking at? when is the last time you saw him stuff a run?
I was thinking the same thing.

When he started he got some sacks right away. It appears that quite a few are still forming their thoughts on that, even though he has been a big part of the DLine that gets run over.

Osa had both Parsons & DLaw before they eventually got injured, but Osa was still invisible himself from Day one .
Osa isn't the guy that will have BIG stats. He just does his job and it's easier win others do theirs. Plain and simple

What’s his job? It’s not stopping the run. It’s not getting interior pressure. It’s not plugging up space to free up the linebackers. What’s this job he’s done?

So you’re saying there will be a bidding war between Home Depot and Lowe’s ?

But he does need to get his forklift license though, or they’ll have him watering the foliage.
Collins has done well for himself since leaving Dallas. Not an all-pro or anything, but he's been a strong journeyman. We should have done more to keep him.

DQ > Zimmer. Plus Osa would get a couple of sacks early and then disappear

I didn't do anything, I always said he was good for a good stop each game and that's it, TFL, end of the year he's gone lol

His job is keep his gap and provide some rush up the middle (filter)

Trending towards his best season in combined tackles and even with past season's solo tackles.

18 combined tackles expand to 51 in 17 games.

9 solo tackles expand to 25.5.

Osa's 17 game average for sacks is 2.9.

He's a good player, but not the kind of elite DT can play above his circumstances.

Micah is gone and is freeing up an extra blocker, Mazi is playing on roller skates next to Osa and may be the worst starting DT in the league, in football, and offenses are pounding the ball at Osa in negative defensive game scripts. It's a lot to overcome.
