We used to be a top 3 defense now we are like what #7?

whant happeend that caused us to get worse losing zimmer, replcing players?
nfl becoming better offensively?

we used to reply on our D and hope or Offense with carter would do something.

Now we rely on our Offense but cannot trust our d to stop someone.

What happened to our doomsday defense?

This was one of the worst games on defense we have had all year. Overall with the exception of the Giants, Patriots, and this game, the defense has been good. And Henry still isn't playing the number of snaps he should be. I think that is the main issue.

And for the record, the team started the year as one of the worst defenses and we've moved up week by week. A top 10 defense is impressive, especially with a top 3 offense.

One more thing: that 2003 defense was never as good as the stats showed. You remember Miami lighting them up on Thanksgiving, the Eagles scoring 36 a few weeks later, and Carolina scoring 29 in the Wild Card game? I do. The Cowboys played a lot of poor teams that year.

We simply don't have the personnel to have a dominating defense.

First of all, we can not generate pressure to save our lives. Ware and Ellis get sucked inside constantly and our safeties are _ALWAYS_ on an island. You have a linebacker playing SS and a woefully inept cornerback in Reeves. Where the hell was Henry today? And for whatever reason, we seem to love playing a soft zone scheme whilst giving the opposing WRs 10 yard cushions.

The fact of the matter is, this defense is not championship caliber. After today, _NOBODY_ can defend Roy Williams. We've always given him the benefit of the doubt, but today has confirmed what most of us have always known but never wanted to admit - he is disgustingly horrible in coverage. It's one thing to get beat occasionally, but he was downright abused all day long.

I am now dreading the Green Bay game.

it seems like the opposing QB never has to worry about pressure up the middle. he can just step up to avoid the DE, and it's a big completion. I don't know how many 3rd and longs we gave up today.

At least our offense is excellent.

Ware was forcing cambell to throw early and everything else we had pressure plenty of times the backfield just gives to much cushion to the wr

The thing that makes me so sick is the Skins were keeping extra men in to help pick up the pass rush and Dallas still couldnt cover anyone. Ive never seen so many receivers running free, as I have the last couple of years. I dont know if it is the soft coverages or what but something needs to be changed and fast or this team has no shot at winning the SB.

We need to find another CB to play opposite Newman, trade Roy and move Hamlin to SS and get a new FS. Its time to admit these guys are getting it done and bring in some players who can get it done. This secondary is a joke and has been all year. Every decent QB Dallas has played this year has passed for a minimum of 250 yards.

The Cowboys can't generate pressure? Really? You do realize they are in the top-5 for sacks in the entire league and have a ton of QB pressures?

We don't have a Super Bowl defense... it's that simple.

I don't like your message, but I have to agree with you. No pass rush at all, and why was Ellis in coverage all day?

Watkins/Hamlin may be the future, but it sure isn't Roy. I think the coaches have to play Roy off the target so he won't get beat deep. He has no ability in man to man coverage.

They took advantage of our "bend but don't break" defense. I know Wade doesn't want to give up the long passes, but when a QB is on his game, he can eat us alive. Eli did it in Week 1, Brady did it, and Campbell did it today.

We tightened up on those last 2 drives and it resulted in us winning the game. I don't mind the soft zones, but you have to mix it up if tha'ts not working.

our defense was so embarassing today I turned away from the tv when we were on defense, were dreaming if we think this defense can take us all the way, i believe our offense can, but in the end it will be the defensse thats our downfall:bang2:

Four times they let the Skins score after the O put up some points. Very frustrating.

I really don't get where people are coming up with this line about no pass rush. The Cowboys are pretty high up in the most sacks and pressures in the league (not to mention a forced fumble today and a forced an INT last game). Most teams would love to have a rush like ours. What do some of you want, a sack every down?

Thats really the only thing holding this defense back is this joke of a secondary.

I don't see how we could trade Roy Williams. Who would want him???

He is overpaid and overrated no team would want him sucking up their cap space
