We don't have a Super Bowl defense... it's that simple.

Amen!! That's what I've been trying to drive home today. The Lions should not have scored more than 14 points on us if we had a good solid defense.

Remember guys; the Lions were getting CHUNKS of yards at times and this was without their #1 reciever playing.

Don't get me wrong, we'll win a playoff game this year, may even make the Superbowl. However, we will need another run stopping LB and a replacement for Henry who can coverbefore this D can take the next step.

25 more today, and this was against a team that had no run game to speak of (and had set several records for run game futility this yr) and the pass rush pulled a total MIA job agaist a team that had been getting killed up front

I have zero confidence in this defense again...just like last yr and the several years before that

David

Well, if you only focus on the bad plays and games, you're not likely to have much confidence.

If an opponent has a very good offensive coordinator along with some decent playmakers, it is easy to formulate a game plan to score points on Dallas' defense.

Mike Martz put together a brilliant game plan and his players followed it and executed it for the most part. Their offensive line had the best game yet this season in max protect and run blocking.

Dallas adjusted, almost too late, but they did slow the bleeding.

unfortunately thats about all we had to focus on yesterday...there were a handful of decent defensive plays, but for the most part it was all bad

thats 6+ quarters in a row now of bad defense

We simply don't have the personnel to have a dominating defense.

First of all, we can not generate pressure to save our lives. Ware and Ellis get sucked inside constantly and our safeties are _ALWAYS_ on an island. You have a linebacker playing SS and a woefully inept cornerback in Reeves. Where the hell was Henry today? And for whatever reason, we seem to love playing a soft zone scheme whilst giving the opposing WRs 10 yard cushions.

The fact of the matter is, this defense is not championship caliber. After today, _NOBODY_ can defend Roy Williams. We've always given him the benefit of the doubt, but today has confirmed what most of us have always known but never wanted to admit - he is disgustingly horrible in coverage. It's one thing to get beat occasionally, but he was downright abused all day long.

I am now dreading the Green Bay game.

Ummm, Roy didn't get burned today. In fact, he had good coverage on the only play i saw him isolated

Yesterday's performance was poor but not necessarily indicative of the season overall.

Personally, I've always found this defense underwhelming when I consider the seven first round picks it fields.
