What happened to the CBs playing man?

There was a decent pass rush.

I agree and with CB's playing off 7-10 yards Kap only needed a second or two to release. That did neither the pass rush or CB's any good. IMO if we're going to play off, we need to see our CB's jump more routes.

Cover 3 is a decent shell if you don't give the receivers a 10 yard cushion

Most C3 teams give a cushion so they don't get burned deep. Seattle gets away with it because they have superior coaching, technique, and Richard Sherman.

Add in to that very good defense that Green Bay couldn't even hear themselves think in that crazy stadium, and it becomes a tall order to move the ball consistently against them.

Can't play man much against a QB that runs like Kaepernick.

It appears that Kap keys on CBs playing man. I think they have that offense set up such that when he is making his reads, that if he sees a CB in man coverage, he automatically runs outside to that side of the field.

I mean if you can get to Kap consistently with pressure you can warrant the zone coverage. I understand why they run it against a mobile guy like Kap. It just spells disaster if you can't get to him at time and when you do he breaks tackles.

Yeah because the shot at Carr was unwarranted. He has definitely lived up to his contract his time here.

You are aware Carr was never going to live up to that contract though right? He's a solid cornerback who we had to overpay for playing the free agency game. Free agency is where veterans who teams no longer want them go or where solid players go to get overpaid.

Superior coaching and technique? Those corners in seattle are allowed to for whatever reason play more aggressive than anyone in the league. I've never seen a team in the league be allowed to play physical and rarely get called for it.

As Jerry put it... we paid "retail" for Carr.

Fans see $50M and they think shutdown corner, but the truth is that kind of money isn't really even that much anymore for the NFL.

They weren't comfortable manning up with Kap able to run it on them when they did.

They talked about this on Talking Cowboys................everybody agreed that they cant play zone worth crap so if they were not going to play man the should really not even bother trying to play D.

They said our corners were dropping 10 yards off the receivers on 3rd and 7................LMAO..........................I agree with them, the Cowboys should just forfeit if they are going to play like that.
