This has nothing to do with DallasEast it's about mods and their influence participating regularly in forum debates. He’s 100% correct with what he said. There is nothing in his response that would control the outcome of this discussion. @DallasEast has been a longtime contributor of this board who earned his title. You can search out the countless threads here on the subject he’s not wrong.
Happy New Year Zoners. This season is ending on a high but low note for me. Week 17 will have some excitement but winning 3 in a row really takes Dallas out of contention to draft a top QB. Worst case scenario seems likely - Dallas and Washington both win. So the draft pick ends up in the 9-12 area, I guess. Definitely no QB there. No Surtain. No Parsons. Oh well. Biggest question is the QB. Seems like the choices are:
1. Tag Dak for 2021 and let him play out that contract
2. Trade Dak knowing the value is down given the injury and ATL likely grabs Wilson
3. Sign Dak LT - there will be no bargain there
If you go with #2 is Dalton your guy?
Accuracy? Every receiver has to practically do a full body twist to catch his passes. How many highlight reels show him hitting guys deep full stride catching in front without having to come back to him? How many amazing highlights show him putting that ball on the outside of the receiver along the sideline where only he has a chance to catch it? Dalton has done that this year.......
I dont know...I remember more than a few people, including me, being up in arms to giving Romo this contract late in his career and being susceptible to injury, I believe we were still paying on it after he retired.None of the trophies in the background have his stats on them.....but the smile was great....and not a peep from the board when it happened.

I got it wrong with the posters being kind about it....but I didn't get it wrong about JJ being receptive or willing to the signing. JJ in a dilemma, and while Dak has some moments, he, if returning healthy, remains our best option.....or we in rebuilding mode.Idont know...I remember more than a few people, including me, being up in arms to giving Romo this contract late in his career and being susceptible to injury, I believe we were still paying on it after he retired.

Let's be honest here their words carry a bigger stick and it's not an EVEN playing field if you want to engage in a debate.

Not one game, but all of them.Holy crop did you really post this? It’s
Almost as if you haven’t even watched Dak play.
"Will get done" is definitive. It's not definitive to you because you are a prisoner of the past and present and you do not trust the future, You are creating this dilemma for yourself and propagating it out to others because that's all you are capable of conceiving. Until you are able to trust the future, that's just the way it will be.

Because Romo wasn’t greedy when he was the next QB up in 2013 he agreed to a deal that made him the 6th highest paid QB. Dak wants Russell Wilson money and won’t be happy unless he is the highest paid QB which is delusional.Visionary….BTW, I had no problem with TRomo signing the deal.....my question...…"Why was Jerry so willing for TRomo, but not so willing for Dak, now?" I have an idea, just curious of your take.
Not a problem if that's what you think or feel is justifiable. What is true.....neither has a ring yet, and only one left to have that chance.Because Romo wasn’t greedy when he was the next QB up in 2013 he agreed to a deal that made him the 6th highest paid QB. Dak wants Russell Wilson money and won’t be happy unless he is the highest paid QB which is delusional.

thats not a team friendly structure
he wantign a max deal and short length etc he wanted it all and now with the market even higher what will his new demands be..thats my point..what will he want this offseason? he may price himself our of dallas as 38-40mil and short deal with max guarantees vs 2 #1s and just going another route maybe the move..who knows maybe Dak softens his stance post injury etc
Happy New Year Zoners.
...is Dalton your guy?
There is a market for Dak for sure, it would be brutal if he signed with the Football Team. They would be a thorn in the the Cowboys side if Dak signed with them. They already have a top flight defense, Dak would advance their offense light years. It is a tricky situation. I believe if Dalton would not have gotten hurt or sick we would have won the East by now. The same could be said for Dak if he did not get injured. That is the dilemma of signing Dak to large contract. Dalton cost us 3 to 7 million this season while Dak cost us 30+ this season. The Cowboys have an excuse to move on from Dak now. Unless they believe Dak would have led this team to a Super Bowl if he did not get injured. I don’t think he would.
On a side note I believe the Football Team would give Dak 40 million+ and trade their first round pick + for him. So there is a market for Dak.
Cowboys tag Dak then maybe sign him to a long-term deal.
Funny how most fans have forgotten the trade Aikman banter in the early 90's and keep I forget the kid we drafted in the supp draft. Then the Quincy Wilson was the savior, then the washed up QB from the Pats, then Romo where you either loved him or hated him and even the part where they wanted Cowboys to tank to get a top QB, then the "must trade up in the draft" to get Paxton Lynch but fans forgot how that ended so we get Dak who as it turns out is better than all the QBs in that draft combined, and now it is resign Dalton and trade Dak.Happy New Year Zoners.
