What happens to the QB position now?

Fully expect to see Dak at QB next year be it by franchise tag or long term deal.

Fans forget that the majority of 1st round QBs never as in ever make a difference, they forget what it was like to suffer for years without a guy, they forget what Dalton played like at Cincy even when he had a great OL and very good WR and RB, and yet here we go again.

The facts are, as risky as the draft is, it is the most effective way of getting a franchise QB. This is how the majority of teams find franchise QBs. The only alternative strategy is to pay stupid money for a FA franchise QB......but they never come on the open market unless they are late in their careers.

I'd rather gamble in the draft - gives us a fighting chance of being competitive. The alternative is a mediocre or worse team for the next few years. We've already tried the "dont draft a 1st round QB" strategy for years - under a number of HCs and where has it gotten us?

None of the trophies in the background have his stats on them.....but the smile was great....and not a peep from the board when it happened.

Exactly....robbed them without a gun and he smiling about it lol. Not a peep lol..

Not one game, but all of them.

There’s no way you’ve watched every game, and then honestly believe Dak doesn’t make throws like that.

I mean he has done it over and over and over again.

Funny how most fans have forgotten the trade Aikman banter in the early 90's and keep I forget the kid we drafted in the supp draft. Then the Quincy Wilson was the savior, then the washed up QB from the Pats, then Romo where you either loved him or hated him and even the part where they wanted Cowboys to tank to get a top QB, then the "must trade up in the draft" to get Paxton Lynch but fans forgot how that ended so we get Dak who as it turns out is better than all the QBs in that draft combined, and now it is resign Dalton and trade Dak.

May not be the biggest fan of Jerry and/or Stephen or maybe even the Scouting department but sure am glad no fan is running the front office or scouting for the Cowboys.

You sound like the perfect fan. Lemming style.

i think the Tag is likely.

pending a successful recovery, Dak should have 3-4 more seasons as a Starter in Dallas.

that’s the average for our franchise. 8-9 seasons.

Dalton is unlikely to stay, because of the UFA $$$ that is coming his way.

his wife will want the $$$, and they have a home in Dallas. So Andy hits the road for a year.
Dalton's plan was this is just a one year stop while Covid is wrecking the country. It gives his family stability. By next season the Covid situation should be much better. He will follow through with his plan and be somewhere else next season.

More and more the mods are intervening in these forum discussions and indirectly controlling their outcome and pulse.
Hard to debate a guy on equal footing who has the power to ban you.
Most mods would ban you b/c you're a troll. You should probably just shut up, crybaby.

You shut up man with a Dak-Crush.
Look forward to the spring when Dak departs and hopefully taking you with him to his new team forums.

P.S.If he gets signed that is as a FA....

What's team friendly then. Hes definitely worth 35 maybe a little more, by signing it's cheaper then the tags we keep putting on him at least for the first year or 2 and by then his play would have improved. I hear what your saying but so you want to take a chance with a guy like Dalton or Gilbert or a unknown rookie
dont know but rumor has it the way so many rookies are playing well much quicker then before because teams started adapting their offenses to the QB instead of trying to force them to be in pro style base offense is going to re-adjust the qb market because many vet qbs will be let go and flood the market with cheaper VET QBS..it happened with the rookie qbs deals long time ago and will happen again

soon owners will give the very select elute qbs that kind of money , the market is so out of control most are making double some f the best players on the field like Wrs, DBS, and Lbs and they have taken notice and want more of the cap ..im sorry but as good as dak is , hes not in the select few elite group..35 is already too much IMHO but ill let jerry decide and rol with it...

i wont be upset either way as QBs are demanding far more then their worth to most teams..

how did the Texans fair with Watsons new deal? he was healthy all year and they have what the same or worse record then us we played with 4 Qbs, a bad defense, and new coaching staff.

What humor?
