How many of you guys get paid to coach in the NFL??

I doubt any of us. But, there's probably a lot of guys like me who have played and coached at some level and watched football for about 40 years.
Some things are painfully obvious. What's the harm in trying to remedy a weakness that has been exposed to the rest of the NFL?

I used to like it when they would put Bill Bates in at MLB in their dime package.

I think Williams could do real well in that scheme. But I'm ok with him staying where he is also. I think people are totally overreacting to the plays from Monday.

I don't think he will let too many players get deeper than him like that in the future.

And I hope the CB will also provide better coverage in those situations. IMO, its not enough to just run down the field on the outside so the receiver can't get outside of you, you have to cover the receiver also.

I don't know how anyone can say that Glenn was providing strong coverage on those plays.

IMO, he and Williams can share the blame.

Good post jay cee...Bill Bates is a good anology for the Nickle/Dime package. Roy is bigger, stronger and faster than Bates was. He would thrive there.

I'm not advocating a total move for Roy to LB...Just in the Nickle/Dime package that you see in 3rd and long or prevent at the end of a game.

Exactly. I didnt go over the line and exclaim ROY FOR WEAKSIDE LB like most of you guys thought he could cover the slants and lay the smack down on scrambling QB's but hopefully there wont be another game in which it seems like I rewound the TiVo to lose the game.

But more than like Rattay wont have enough time to launch the ball this Sunday
