What if 1 Super Star was added to this defense?

What if everybody on the 2014 roster returned except they added 1 Super Star on defense?

Just for example, what if Nick Hayden was replaced with Donkey Kong Suh? Suh plays both the 1-tech and 3-tech. Putting him at the 1-tech would make all 10 other players better. The DEs would be better, Crawford would never get double teamed. The LBs would be more protected in run defense and the improved pass rush would make the secondary better.

I think this scenario is really only a dramatic improvement if the Super Star is a DLineman. I don't think replacing Carr with Revis would have the same impact.

I have not really looked at the other free agent options at DT. A 1-tech like Mebane would be terrific, but he is not a free agent.

At DE Hardy is the most talented, IMO. JPP has his issues and might never be a Super Star again, but he is obviously better than the DEs currently on the team. I'm certain that Houston in KC will be franchised.

I still think we need at least on the back end. Wilcox and church are ok but still not there yet. I get they can cover well but they have let me down with tackling and angles.

Suh would be fantastic. Hardy will not be coming to Dallas. No way I see JG buying off on that. On the field antics are one thing, off the field violence towards women I think are a no brainer in this day and age of the NFL.

Suh, Crawford and DLaw I think could be a potent D-Line.

JJ Watt is probably the only guy I think that can come in and make our defense a legit top 10 defense. I think our defense is a few solid guys away. We're more than a Suh away.

The secondary really isn't that much of an issue IMO. The complete lack of a pass rush makes it look a lot worse than it is.

I would love Suh, if they could figure it out financially it would afford the Cowboys much more flexibility in the draft and do what Mario Williams did for the Bills.

The safety position could use an upgrade; Church and Wilcox are serviceable but not solid.

I would target a solid starter on the d-line via FA. I would also look at CBs that could compete for a starting job.

A boy named Suh would take up a double team inside and really help the other 3 DLmen. DLaw could become a beast at one end but I think you still need a beast on the other end and we could have ourselves one mean Line to go with that other mean line. Control of the LOS is the key to winning in the NFL----and it travels with you wherever you go. Hate his past, but wants to win.

And I keep saying this every week----FS is the achilles heel of this secondary and has been for a very long time; Wilcox and/or Church do not have the instincts/technique for this position. I think you find one of those on the top shelf in aisle 9 just above the shut down CBs------which you might pick one of those up too while you're there. And don't forget to bring Brandon Carr back to the exchange counter.
