What if Bland isn't a fit for Christian Parker's defense? Should we trade him?

Interesting tweet. Many will say trade him just to get out of his contract and they wouldn't be wrong. But is getting rid of a CB very smart?

Random #Cowboys thought of the morning.

Schottenheimer said yesterday that DaRon Bland is a “valuable guy we can move around.” I wonder if he continues to be up and down if they move him from the outside corner spot back to nickel.

Shavon Revel and Cobie Durant should be 100% after this week, so maybe over the small bye they shuffle things around in the secondary.

However, what if Bland isn’t a fit for Christian Parker? The Cowboys also don’t have many draft picks in the 2027 draft.

The contract is movable, and if a desperate team like the Detroit Lions calls looking to add CB depth at the deadline, could you get a 3rd-round pick for Bland? The Lions were also in on the JPJ trade.

With Joey Porter Jr. in the mix, you’d have him and either Revel/Durant on the outside, move Caleb Downs back to slot, and sign Reddy Steward to the active roster in place of Bland.

I also don’t believe in taking a healthy secondary and making it a weakness now that they have quality depth, but if he doesn’t fit, it might be better for both parties to move forward.

Just a thought.

Trade him? For what?

Bland has getting beat like a drum all season. Oh, yeah, 23 teams are vying to throw a first at a highly paid drumbeat!!!!!!

I think the trade deadline, is November 1 week,
There are a lot of teams that need a lot of players. There’s a lot of injuries this season.
Probably get a fourth, lucky get a third

I just like to see him, move to the nickel

After the tape he’s put on the field this season the cowboys may actually have to throw in a draft pick just to move his contract. He’s most likely a negative value player at this point.

I'd assume at this point he is worth a tad bit more than Diggs was before we ultimately end up cutting him. Best bet is to hope he gets better as the season comes along I just can't see a contender being that desperate. We keep wanting Quinn to come get these guys who flourished for him and he never wants them.

Truthfully the Marvin Harrison tape would keep me away from Bland.

Bland is a negative asset. He has no trade value. The best we could hopefully is getting the less favorable pick in a late round pick swap

I can see a team that needs a final piece to add to a SB caliber defense, trading a mid round pick for him. Not to start but to be a rotational CB and slot guy. A team like Seattle or Jacksonville might, just to solidify an already good group. If we can get a 3rd for him, I'd do it, as long as we have a plan. Depends on Durant, Revel and Porter. How would we use them if he's gone? Are Revel and Durant healthy? What about the kid Moore? We drafted him this year, is he worth throwing to the wolves?

Maybe but some team might view him in a better way, depending on which team and how they want to use him.

Two foot injuries robbed him of his confidence and ability to break on the ball: good dude, but he’s not the same player unfortunately. No one’s giving up more than a conditional 7th for him at this point.

..you can see where the puck is going. You'll try all sorts of templates to help him.

One thing is sure, he lost some Mojo. He could be demoted by mid season.

Once other players get back.

Being the odd man out on a defense ranked 30th cant be bait .......it just can't.
