Many fans and Pundits are taking the Cowboys being the 2 seed as a given.
I'm fairly confident they will win but what if they were to lose?
It would be the most cataclysmic moment for this franchise in recent history.
I can't imagine how irate the fanbase would be and if you thought the Cowboy haters in sports media were insufferable before, multiply that by a Billion!
McCarthy would have to be fired, Dak's reputation would suffer immensely and the franchise would be a laughing stock.
then we need eagles to lose too :). which is a possibility

if they come out without fire, flat, not inspired, playing with a sense of urgency, if the defense gives up big play after big play, long runs, doesn't get sacks, if the offense struggles. then both MM and Quinn should be fired.

they know what's at stake. win and you are #2 seed and host a playoff game. lose and you are screwed. nobody should be taking this game lightly. they need to come out and make a statement

I don't play the "what if game". I play the I can't wait to watch the game, then win or lose, it can be discussed.

Most of our losses feel like the players were not mentally prepared to play. That falls on the coaching staff.

Honestly, if we lose to Washington I would fire McCarthy immediately.
We were mentally prepared to play SF, Philly, Buffalo and Miami on the road we simply got beat. We’re not the same team on the road, which is why Sundays game at Washington isn’t a slam dunk. In the 11 games we’ve lost during the regular season and playoffs the past two seasons, 9 of them were on the road and one of them was at Washington.

We're playing for the 2nd seed and a home playoff game. We lose and we would have to travel to Tampa in all probability. Nobody is getting fired this week if we lose. The next two weeks will be another matter. People will probably get fired unless we lose the NFC Championship game.

The housing market is about to relax up again...but rates will be the thing then.
Rates are going to come down a bit next year, the market will stay up, micro correction but won’t be the bubble burst everyone is stating.

The economy is in the start of an upsurge at present...unemployment right now, is the lowest in 50 years...the stimulus taking current view.

Which players on the Commanders want the 2nd pick in the draft more than a win on Sunday? Which members of the Commanders coaching staff want the 2nd pick in the draft more than a win on Sunday? I believe what they think makes more difference than what fans think.

Cowboys Nation will be turned completely upside down if the Cowboys lose on Sunday. Their road woes have already become a joke. A loss to a 4-12 team with the NFC East on the line and a home playoff game would send the fan base spiraling. Especially considering the Cowboys destroyed Washington earlier in the season at home. The Cowboys would be looked at as a bunch of chokers if they blow this game. They’ve been given every break imaginable to have this opportunity to steal the division. This is an absolute must win to save face with their fan base and the rest of the league.

Cool. The question was what do the fans want.

I'm not sure that all falls on coaches. 1st off...Dak is the claimed de facto leader. Part of being a leader is to inspire your team.

Also...these guys are pros. They know what it takes and how to do it.

Granted....there could be some fault in scheme or game plan. But I don't think that's any more powerful than players not executing. Or "feeling off".

So you are saying that MM is under heavy pressure to have this team motivated.

I'd go on radio silence and not get out of bed for a week. Then I'd boycott the playoffs. I'm disgusting even imagining it.

Dallas is undefeated at home. This will be like a home game for them.

Dang, I hope I did not jinx them.
Well then stop it already. lol don't have smiley functions by the way mod, but on a serious note, I will take all the home game advantage we can get.
As much as I want to see this team play equally on the road it is an obvious advantage at home, we have to love that as Cowboys Fans, just that this team dominates and wins in The Palace In Dallas, something special going on there.
I will take that advantage all day long.

It would clearly make the narrative that this team is defenseless on the road indefensible. It would rightfully render those beating their chests screaming that the Cowboys are non-reliable bullies only capable of beating nobodies in their own house, correct.

Dak and MM would be joined at the hip as being singularly, and as a duo, big game flops. For all intents and purposes this will be viewed as a playoff game given its seeding implications.

Cowboys should win this game going away but lose and it punctuates everything negative the naysayers profess to be true – Cowboys can’t win meaningful games.
