Love how it invariably always swings back to Dak for certain people.

They are the first to minimalize his contributions when Dallas is successful but the one and only person they blame for the failures.

And this is not a Dak apologist post; if he is to blame than blame him. But if he throws for 380 yards and 4 scores but Dallas loses 35-31, we know he will be blamed and it's comical.

I find it quite hilarious when people through out ONE play, to prove Romo was a choker. No context about how we got there, or what the defense did to contribute.

I watched romo have to go out time and time again, put the team on his back, take the risks...and it's only a matter of time until the numbers turn.

"look at what ROMO did in THAT game!" . All romo's fault.
Well because I have a good memory I could throw out a lot more than NOE play that illustrated Romo's warts.. but in the final analysis Romo was a good quarterback. Not a great one but certainly a very good one and by year 9 or 10 one more than capable of leading a team to the Super Bowl. The problem was that by the time his mind reached that point his body was ready to call it quits. Here's hoping that now that it appears Dak's mind had gotten to that point HIS body holds up better. Since Dak spends his offseason working out with his buds in the Dak yard and not trying to audition for the PGA I think at very least his back will hold up better. We all know a golf swing is a terrible thing to do to one's back and Romo did a ton of it in his offseasons and ultimately it was his back that did him in. A cautionary tale to be sure.

So tell me mr expert of all things...why did his body take a beating?

Ill tell you why....his teams sucked.

And why would he even try that hard? Because he cared and had heart.

Oh wait...because golf....and hollywood too i suupose right?

Plus the refs let them smear the beer with the ball, especially against romo....whem brady or mannning or brees or rodgers could get the calls.

Well...now (sigh) you are arguing things I never said.

I never said "miracle" nor did I say "it's all on him".

So I'm not sure how to proceed, other than just let it be.
No, you did not say either that is correct I should not have improvised.

The Cowboys are winning today. No reason to overthink it with pessimism and trepidation. So many negative threads already. Why start another one? Smh

Many fans and Pundits are taking the Cowboys being the 2 seed as a given.
I'm fairly confident they will win but what if they were to lose?
It would be the most cataclysmic moment for this franchise in recent history.
I can't imagine how irate the fanbase would be and if you thought the Cowboy haters in sports media were insufferable before, multiply that by a Billion!
McCarthy would have to be fired, Dak's reputation would suffer immensely and the franchise would be a laughing stock.
We all know how this is going to play out. This Cowboys team is NOT Superbowl caliber...they just are not. This team can NOT run the ball and struggle ( again ) stopping the run. Jerry went to the grocery store and bought Trystan Hill (DT-UCF) and was a complete bust. So Jerry again, went to the store and bought another DT from Michigan and is turning out to be another bust. Yes, "allow him to develop" is the cry from the blinded fellow Dallas fans. But until this team and PROVE and not TALK/SAY they can get to a Superbowl, the 27 years drought continues.

Now question is: McCarthy fails in divisional round again. And for majority of NFL fans, would love to have this success. I would agree also. But Jerry hasn't proven ON THE FIELD that he can produce a winner since Jimmy Johnson. The Reaper is coming for Jerry and his pride/ego. Can Jerry afford ( time ) to start over with a new coaching staff. Which then means time for the new coach to put in his own players/scheme/philosophy ? Really no coach has been allowed because it has to be Jerry's way and why the team hasn't sniffed a NFC Conference game for 27 years.

With Dak, anything is possible. That’s the exact quality that you do not want in your franchise player.

What would happen if the Cowboys lost to Washington today? The sun would explode within seconds of the final gun, all life within a thousand light years of the explosion would be extinguished and all ships would consider the entire quadrant a no go zone for at least 2 centuries. So yeah,....there is A LOT riding on this game. To say the least.....o_O

Most of our losses feel like the players were not mentally prepared to play. That falls on the coaching staff.

Honestly, if we lose to Washington I would fire McCarthy immediately.
Exactly. And this type of game historically brings out the worst in this team. Flat and uninspired somehow.

Why make this thread? What if we all don't wake up tomorrow? Why so pessimistic?
