There have been crazy outcomes before in the Dallas-Washington rivalry. Many that defy logic.
1974 Clint Longley win on Thanksgiving.
1989 for the boys only win in a 1-15 season
1991. The 6-5 cowboys win over the 11-0 washington in RFK stadium.

Many fans and Pundits are taking the Cowboys being the 2 seed as a given.
I'm fairly confident they will win but what if they were to lose?
It would be the most cataclysmic moment for this franchise in recent history.
I can't imagine how irate the fanbase would be and if you thought the Cowboy haters in sports media were insufferable before, multiply that by a Billion!
McCarthy would have to be fired, Dak's reputation would suffer immensely and the franchise would be a laughing stock.

This had BETTER happen!!!

Dallas is undefeated at home. This will be like a home game for them.

Dang, I hope I did not jinx them.
This very forum has taught me that Jimmy Johnson nullified all hexes, curses, jinxes and bad juju with his HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!! on Saturday.

Let’s ask a very specific question - is Sam Howell starting because “he’s a company man”? ie: He’ll get McLaurin his 54yds to make 1,000 then throw a couple of “unfortunate” picks to ensure the draft choice…

If they lose, it'd be a big matzah-ball on the Cowboys' face.

And probably a quick exit from the playoff.

They are still in the playoffs regardless. It would not be a good prognosticator for them. But nothing will happen or be decided until after their last game this year, which isn’t against Washington.
Correct...it would be against Tampa Bay or New Orleans.

Within the past 21 years, 13 point road favorites have won at a 70% rate w/ a small sample size of 7-3. It's fairly odd to have a road favorite this big, but when it happens, they win essentially 3/4 times.

How do you inspire the defense being a quarterback? I can see inspiring the offensive side, I would think the defense is on Parsons D law
An offense and QB putting up points and getting the lead should inspire a defense. However, it hasn’t inspired ours the last couple of weeks in the closing minutes.

Even if we lose we will reach the SB
The Commanders will be game. They’ll lose. And then they’ll no longer matter. It’s all about advancing in the playoffs. Dallas will be playing next weekend and Washington won’t.

Washington looking for the draft and the off season . It should be an easy win for us

Not one member of the coaching staff, all about to be fired, and not one member of the team cares about any player available in the draft. They just don’t. Washington will lose because they’re not very good, not because they collectively want a draft pick. Fans think like that. Assuming players and coaches think like fans is, as you can imagine, stupid.

They already ruled out Allen and Fuller. Their injury list is long. Lots of business decisions being made by players.

While I don’t disagree that coaches will want to win, and players are professionals who will come and play for pride— in the end, Dallas HAS to win this game.

It’s that simple. They are looking at this as a must-win playoff game. They shredded this Washington defense last time— and I believe they will again.

This game is a cream puff game. A convincing win to allow JJ and MM to strut and act like the road woes are banished. THAT is my concern. This team wins big on the road against a vacant Washington team, and they eat the cheese and start to swell up with false confidence like they did headed to SF earlier this year.

Just go take care if business and dismantle a bad team so you can claim the NFCE title and the #2 seed. Then get back to work and get ready to run through anyone in your way to a SB trophy

With the understanding that a victory would mean(in all likelihood) two games at home in the playoffs, there is absolutely no reason why we should ever be in danger of losing this game. After being given the greatest of gifts from Philly last week, the Cowboys should treat every game from here on out as a playoff game. ESPECIALLY THIS ONE!!!

So if we win, we're automatically the 2nd seed, or is it still in phillies hands?

If we win, we’re automatically the 2nd seed. Even if we lose, Philly still has to win to secure the division. It’s in our hands completely.
