ok hypothetically Dak blows out his knee early in the year. are you rolling with CRush or Lance for the rest of the year. i’m seeing a lot of hypotheticals on here so i’m adding to the thread count.

Why do we play the what if game and obviously Cooper rush would be the quarterback until further notice he would have to do something really bad and they probably would try to get Lance up to speed but anybody who thinks that Trey Lance is gonna leapfrog Cooper rush that quickly don't understand the Cowboys just paid Cooper rush to be the backup quarterback.. So let's not even think about losing Prescott it's a bad hypothetical but the answer is already there Cooper rush is the number 2 QB until he's not...

Dude this stuff you're talking about is just ridiculous.

nobody wants to be even thinking about hypotheticals that bad losing Prescott tanking going for the number one spot..

you would have to tank on purpose and I got to tell you if they find out you're doing that and they're looking for it now the league will probably take your draft pick away I think most sports leagues now are doing that they see you trying to get a better draft pick on purpose they're literally going to find you and probably take some draft picks away, and I mean be really bad to get the number one overall pick...

I don't think there's many real cowboy fans that want to see that happen, there are a few though and I think you might be one of them that like to be picking in that top five in the draft because you think it's a badge of honor and I think it's ridiculous I don't want to be anywhere near the top ten in the draft that's why I want our team to win and yes that would involve Prescott people just seem to want to keep getting rid of him and they're going to find out on the other side it isn't going to always be greener....

And lastly I thought our defense special teams coaching and everything on our team was perfect except for Prescott so just losing Prescott we should get better right why tank I mean if people think Cooper rush is is a better quarterback and they think Trey Lance is the quarterback of the future why worry about it it looks like a Prescott goes down well when our first Super Bowl I mean that's what this attitude of this fan base is with Prescott they think he's holding the team back...

So a player getting injured...as only hypothetical?

I mean...yeah sure...until it happens it is. But odds are not exactly in favor of NFL players never egtting injured.

So...what's the plan then? One should be made for every position. Even if it's not a perfect plan...

I don't see anything wrong with "expect the worst and hope for the best". I think getting Lance sits right in that.It may not be a perfect plan....but we're hoping it's an improvement should the worst happen.

Obviously if very early on, like the first game or two, Rush would be the guy. But Lance is obviously more physically talented, so the expectation would be fore Lance to take over at some point. Rush is, at best, a game manager, whereas the hope is Lance would be more able to take charge of the offense and make the kinds of plays you would expect from a starting QB.

Nobody is a "fan" of Rush, other than the fact a noodle-arm, practice QB exposed Dak as the imposter we all knew he was. Rush went 5-1 and until he really sucks it up and Dallas isn't in play-off contention, you go with him while you develop Lance and see if he's worth it. I haven't seen anything of Trey to make a judgment, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he sucks.

Well that might be true I didn't say for not any reason but it wouldn't be a quick hook they're gonna go to Cooper rush first and see how he functions for probably three or four games just like last year but if he struggles sure eventually hopefully by then Trey has enough of the offense down that he could come in but right now if that happened in the first couple of weeks of the season and Prescott lost for the season they're gonna give Cooper rush every bit of lease to work with... That's all I'm saying there's no way they're just turning the Trey Lance if Cooper rust comes in and has one off game and all of a sudden he they go right to him that's not happening..
