Its like pass targets are allocated....start giving to Pollard, whos targets get cut.

But without it...is it really a texas coast offense?
We simply have an incomplete O due to not having a primary.

If you're going to do RB by committe, and there are obvious advantages to it, you absolutely must have a chain mover. Only one we have is Luepke, and we won't give him the ball.

Did you know that before the fumble thingie, Luepke had all of 5 carries for the season? And suddenly we give him the ball on a key play in a very important game. On a play that appeared to be an audible or something. Think about that, man, that attempted handoff was a clusterfudge of the first order. Purely on the coaching staff. If you're going to give him the ball there, and it was not a bad idea, make sure the kid knows it's coming.

Look how many games we've played this year w/ garbage time. Do you think that MAYBE the guy you wanted key goalline carries from should have MAYBE gotten some practice carries in during blowouts? Hades, why not let him have a few carries vs SF or BUFF, they were beating the crap out of us anyway.

What if the Cowboys actually give this guy a legit opportunity and he runs wild tonight..

It would not surprise me in the least either.

If Dallas gives him a decent workload he may be all we are talking about after this game tonight.
what happens if he gets arm tackled every time he touches the ball

I hope he does. Heck, I hope Pollard and Davis do also.

Two things w/ Deuce.

1. My gawd, man, get him the ball in space. Quit trying to use him as you would a big RB and use him as the gadget player he is. He can be effective at that, BTW, but will never be effective if used as a standard RB. HE IS NOT THAT.
2. Deuce is going to have to learn to run a bit differently. The way he ran in college is not going to work in the NFL, too big too fast. Maybe learn some spin moves, get lower, more fakes, hades I don't know, but I still believe he can be a player, albeit a parttime gadget player.

The Lions rank 4th against the run
And 23rd against the pass. We will see a lot of Lamb, Ferguson and Cooks tonight

Because we went into the season w/ Polly as the primary. The primary absolutely must be able to run inside. Polly is not very good at it. Very bad personnel mgmt.

Every time I think Jerry might be getting a bit better, he does something really stupid like this. Did he really buy into all those Polly fans screaming that he was good at running inside? I mean, it was blatantly obvious that he was not, and is not a chain moving type RB. They're going to ruin him if they keep using him like this, especially if he's overpaid.
Seems as if there was a disconnect between MM, the GM, and to some extent player personnel.

Was rumored MM wanted to be more run heavy which is one reason they went with Schoony (according to scouting - a great blocker) instead of a guy like Torrence yet they didn’t follow through with adding a back more suitable to run between the tackles.

I don’t feel as if their actions were consistent with the proposed philosophy.

Either intentionally or (most likely ) unintentionally you have opened yourself up to the angst of the online comedians by asking Deuce to “run lower.”
The jokes will begin to flow…..

But he did have 2 very similar carries earlier in drive, both for 1st downs... Dak & Luepke were fine on those
Thats why i think the goalline was a split second decision by Dak, caught Luepke off gaurd....but he has to ready...
To many variable.. never know
Good no under the bus caualties

We will Babe Ruth our running game tonight. We'll line up, point to the gap we're going through, hand it off to Deuce and they won't be able to stop it.
Yup
Like Larry Allen "cho cho" train ....know its coming, nothing Giants could do

I thought there was something there when I saw him in preseason, but have seen no evidence of it in the regular season.

This.

I swear for some reason we’re using the Jason Garrett approach with Deuce.

They need to understand what he is (a space player) and what he’s not (an every down back).

Get him in space on screens or the passing game and he’ll almost always make the first guy miss.
