What if Morris is better than Elliott?

Hypothetical? What do you do as the GM, if the running back coaches tell you that Morris is better than Elliot. What if Morris outperforms Elliot? Do you still keep Zeke at no.1 rb because of the draft investment or do you let the best players play?

Morris had a bad year last year, but prior to that he was a stud, and he's still young. Just curious what the CZ zone couch GMs would do.

I think you let the best players play but Zeke will be given tons of opportunities to show he is the man. I would have gone a different route in the draft but if Zeke ends up being what they think he can be he will be loads of fun to watch.

I would try to find a way to keep all 5 RB's and inevitably a team will need a starter due to injury and I would try to parlay Mcfadden or Morris into a starting LB or DE.

It might be a bit before we find out. As of right now, Morris is my week 1 starter, he earned and deserves that role. Zeke has yet to see the field and if he doesn't play next week, then he should be eased in.

I see no reason to throw Zeke right into it against the Giants with little to no pre-season IMO.

I was thinking the same thing. Morris could well start game 1, he's been performing great in preseason and training camp so there is no reason to try to force feed Zeke right out of the gates. I'm going to assume Zeke will overtake Morris, but until he does let Morris do his thing. That will help us later in the season and playoffs as well, as Zeke will hopefully just be hitting his stride come December.

Morris is probably going to start the season as the lead back, Elliot will get a series or two but the Cowboys aren't going to overload him early, the bigger question is who's getting traded or cut, it's looking more and more like McFadden and or Dunbar are the odd men out, either getting cut or traded although I could the Cowboys carrying four backs for now...

I think it is unlikely that Morris is better.

But if he is, we just used the 4th pick in the draft on a backup TB.

That would be epic. And not in a good way.

Holy hell.

If we just used the 4th pick on a TB and then play him a couple of series in games early........ LOL.

Then that will suck but I've thought the same thing.

Morris is a former pro bowl RB.

It does sound like when Zeke has been in practice, he's been the more overall dynamic back, buts it's a fair question.
You play the players who give you best chance to win....regardless of draft position.

I have great confidence in Zeke, but am thrilled that we landed Morris.

Btw,this tidbit on TV last night was interesting; of the last six RBs taken in the top 5 in the draft, there has only been one pro bowl appearance in all of their careers combined so far.

Right now, we know absolutely little about Elliott. Our limited information so far is that he is injured and can't play but looks like he is having a great time on the sideline smiling all the time.

Elliott gets nothing given to him from me right now. For all I know he can be another Trent Richardson. We don't even know if he is as good as Darius Jackson. I know it is not popular but I would have Elliott as 3rd string right now. He has to earn it. We don't need some RB thinking he was drafted with a silver spoon in his mouth.

If it ever gets to a point where the best player doesn't play then we'll have a huge problem.

If the coaches and your own eyes tell you Morris is playing the best football heading to week one then that's who you go with. I don't give a damn about Zeke being the #4 pick. If he's better he'll prove it on the field how it should always be.
